So I love taking my dog to the dog park. I have a big dog she’s about 100 pounds. She loves interacting and playing with other dogs. She is a FAMILY dog. When reading over their rules, it states that no aggressive dogs are allowed it states that owners are responsible for injuries and then it also states no children under eight our permitted in the dog park that is excluding to all families in cottage Grove with young children and pets. I’m sorry, but dogs are family pets. If I choose to bring my child with me, I am making that choice that my child knows how to safely interact with other dogs and with their own dog and that my child knows how to listen to me as well as my dog knows how to listen to me, the fact of the matter is there’s a dog park in Woodbury that’s just a few miles away That actually allows families so if this rule does not change in the time, I have my baby, you will no longer have any support or donations for me. I will actually be calling the city to complain. I feel this is Discrimination against families. Also, before writing this review, I did call and leave a voicemail with their system. I can update my review after I speak with whomever on the board but I will say the vice president of the board is rude and I don’t know if he even has children or understands that dogs are part of families, because I brought my older children and their cousins and I got yelled at, and he spoke to my teenager like she was an adult. I asked him not to address her and he still continued, and he went on about how I am breaking all the rules how it is disrespectful. I’m sorry cottage Grove is not filled with elderly people anymore. It is families have you seen our schools? They are max capacity and I bet you how many of those kids have dogs? But they can’t go to the park in their city...
Read moreThis is a great dog park. Not only is it very large and open with diverse footage but a great place to walk around with established paths. I get my steps in while my dogs enjoy running and playing with other dogs. In addition, the park's board has added some wonderful features including watering stations, water fountain, sprayer to clean your dog if they roll in the mud. The park provides doggie bags and it appears all park patrons help in picking up poop so it is very clean. There are benches around the park and plenty of places to sit and talk while your dog plays. Nice little parking lot out of the way so you don't worry about your dogs running across a busy street. The only unique element is the trains going by just outside the fence which I think is pretty fun to watch but they can be loud and surprising to some dogs. Come visit and check...
Read moreOne of the best dog parks I have been to. Located in Cottage Grove it's a great space! Lots of area to run. It haves built in water for the pups with bowls, baggies, and trash cans throughout. Hand sanitizer stands everywhere. Places to sit for people and lots of fire hydrants and mailbox type items for the dogs to sniff out. Easy to walk around path around the fence line and hilly, grassy, wooded areas between. There is even a un-fenced pond area you can go to if you are ok with a little mud. Great place for the dogs to run and play. Plenty of friendly other people and dogs to meet when I was there....
