First of all, I’ve been banking with mountain America for the past 6-7 years, and it’s been mostly a good experience that’s why so keep making business with them. Sadly not all the branches works the same way.. This place is the worst in in utah. I’ve moved to a new place like 4 months ago, today was the second time coming to this place to deposit a check with a big amount. I talked to someone in the computers and asked for help. I told the guy (which is Latin same as me) what I needed and with an attitude he told me to sit down. I explained him what I needed to do with the check because normally I went to the Provo location which is great with costumer service by the way.. I told him that I need to have someone authorized the check because I did this many times, so I know the process.. he started asking me a bunch of weird Questions and gave me a really bad attitude. I ended up getting mad at the situation because he wasn’t there to give me options of possibilities to answer my needs. This is actually the second time that this happened to me in this branch, I had another situation with another loan officer or whoever is in the computer’s.. This old lady, tall and very overpower on her duty’s gave me a very aggressive answer for something she didn’t even had authority to decide to, I asked her if she was the manager and told me not.
This is a big reason for me to close my account here and go to another bank or credit union entity..
I also opened another business account with UCCU, they’re doing much better than mountain America. So now I use them instead of mountain America. I keep all the money there. I do the payroll and all the expenses with them. this is the reason why I decided to keep my business account with someone else. you guys should trained way better about costumer service and how to help people, because of the people that works in this branch made this dumb situation something very problematic. ( the tellers are a whole different thing just to clarify) It’s so dumb that I can’t even use the closest branch to my house because of...
Read moreI have banked with mountain America for the past 10 years. A couple of years off when we didn't live in Utah. I always raved about how amazing they are. However, their fraud department is absolutely terrible. We had a hefty amount of fraud last year. We reported all of it and got around half of it back. A few months after they gave us the money, they decided it "wasn't fraud" and took the money that they gave us back. It put one of our accounts into the negative and they never had any good answers for us. Given the amount of fraud money they took back, it was a pretty good set back. We paid the amount that was overdraft and went to close our accounts. While talking with the branch, a nice lady at the branch (that I started to trust) encouraged us to keep our accounts open so they could look into the fraud more. So we did. We told them we did not want any over draft or anything being able to come out of our account because we were moving our money elsewhere until this was resolved. About a month later, nothing is resolved and our account had been over drafted (before we could change every bill to new account) around 700$. Plus all the over draft fees so now owe them 900 some dollars. I was definitely upset and let it go to the back of my mind because it was so terrible and loosing that much money was not fun. About a month or so later, they sent us to collections. Now they won't stop calling to get their money and no one can help me anymore because the departments are all screwed up on who knows anything about my account. Used to be a great place and would keep your money safe. This happened in January. I never like giving bad reviews but this was just plain awful to go through, and it's still going on. Do not trust your money at this bank.
UPDATE: I emailed the email address provided below and never got a response....
Read moreI can not recommend business banking with MACU. In the past two months they have inadvertently removed my permissions for mobile deposit in the app. This makes it very difficult to run a small business because we can’t do deposits in the app and are forced to go the branch.
Member Support is unable and incapable of helping to rectify this situation and must put in a request for someone to call back in 24-72 business hours.
This is asinine and unacceptable for a professional business banking institution.
I’ve spent 90 minutes I didn’t have to waste on the phone trying to find the right phone number or get transferred to the right person to get help.
Contacting someone on the phone at a local branch is nearly impossible through the phone system as they route all calls back to a central service center where no one can help with this type of problem.
Incredibly frustrating.
I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied with this credit union. They seem to be “too big” to be able to help someone. No one knows who to transfer me to, and they claim that they are not given extensions to transfer calls to other...
