Jamba — Restaurant in Midvale

I wish I could give my experience today a one star rating but give one employee in particular five stars all around. Believe it or not, I really had to shorten this. I’ve ordered the açaí superantioxidant for 7 years with inconsistencies that have caused problems for me. Sometimes the smoothies are much lighter in color than what is shown on the menu (with a much higher dairy content according to my lactose intolerant gut) and sometimes they’re the same as the menu and don’t make me sick. I asked about this and was informed that they could substitute the milk for me. I was given a very purple drink and when I asked if it was actually mine the employee informed me that he removed the açaí to make room for the added protein…. I paid for an add on and they took out the main ingredient? He insisted that it was correct though. At that point it had been 15 minutes and I’d already had to ask why my second drink was never made so I just asked if I could give it back for a refund as I wasn’t going to drink it. This is when another employee offered to make it and cranked out a scrumptious masterpiece. He was so kind and understanding as to why I had the preferences I did. Even gave me the extra for both drinks! The original guy was not rude to me (just dismissive) and did end up giving me a card for $5 off my next visit.

I did want to touch on the fact that before I got my drinks, the group who came after me got theirs. I watched the first employee hand them a medium smoothie. The man asked if it was a large and was met with confirmation from the worker. He asked if this was really the size that they charged $8.99 for and was told yes again but that they could give him more, the worker took the smoothie back, added some stuff, then gave it back split in both a LARGE and a small cup, proving that they were in fact given a medium at first. Everyone else was given the size they ordered or offered extra. Kinda interesting that of the probably 6 orders I saw them do, it only happened to the one black family in there. That could be totally random, just a bit of an odd look for an establishment if you ask me. This is what pushed me over the edge to write a review honestly. No matter what the motivations were, it seemed bizarre.

First let me say, I love Jamba Juice. Just not this Fort Union location. Went in several days ago with a 2 coupons since they are doing a sweepstakes on winning Jamba Juices for a year. 1 coupon was to my email account and the other to my husband's, since he also wants to win. The girl at the counter was a trainee and when the Manager came over to show her how to redeem my $2 Jamba Juice's he told me that I could not use both of them, Even in different transactions. I was highly annoyed since the Draper location let me do it several days previously. The Manager (trainer) therefore mocked me and sarcastically said "Draper is cooler than us." (Which they are, Dan the general Manager at Draper is the best, knows my name and genuinely treats me as an appreciated customer). I sadly ended up getting one of the Jamba Juice's since I had my 7 year old and he was planning on one. Will never go to this Jamba Juice again. I just went to the Ft. Union location on Sunday at 5:50 pm. It was beyond filthy. The layers of fingerprints and filth were appalling. The tables and counters had visible filth on them. The girls in the back were at least doing dishes, but the guy at the register not only didn’t acknowledge our presence at all but wasn’t even attempting to clean or do anything (and had ridiculous b/o). There were toys on the floor and garbage like straw wrappers etc. the floor looked like it hadn’t been swept or mopped in some time. The tables were incredibly dirty and they had been left that way because the smoothies that had dropped or spilled throughout the day were DRIED on the table. I frequent Jamba Juice and have for many years, however I will not be returning to this location until they make some serious changes regarding cleanliness.
