From Head To Toe Salon..now @Waves Salon Cranford NJ — Attraction in Cranford

So there are two listings for the same salon. I will be duplicating this review for the other listing since there are two. This listing and reviews are what brought me to Waves. I needed a haircut badly. My hair had many dead ends and was frizzing and tangling easily. After seeing whose name came up the most I went to Noreen for my cut and style. Booking the appointment was so easy. I made the appointment online which was great for me. It was also a day they were closed so I didn’t have to worry about waiting for them to open and forgetting to call. I can always book it whenever. And the text/email reminders were so helpful. I was worried about parking but that turned out to be a nonissue. The area of Cranford is very nice but isn’t as busy as the downtown area. It is street parking. But not metered. And I found a spot right out front in the shade! It is currently an excessive heat watch so shade is helpful. And I mean it was right out front and it was an end spot so I didn’t even have to parallel park. I got there a little early. Checked in and everyone was very nice. They made sure I didn’t park in the back lot which is for residents. So helpful. I met Noreen and she was so very nice. I got my hair washed by Fiona and she was also very nice. Easy to chat with. The chair and sink were very comfortable. Sometimes the sinks hurt my neck but this was not an issue. It was very relaxing. Then Noreen and I talked about what I wanted done with my hair. She made extra sure that I was comfortable with the length of my hair and my new curtain bangs and face frame. Did exactly what I wanted and did it amazingly! Sometimes stylists want to “thin” out my thick hair or give me layers but I prefer not to get that done. Noreen did not do this which I appreciated. She really was attentive. Again she also was so easy to talk to. So friendly. She knew I was going out that night and styled my hair wonderfully. Even told me how to freshen it up later and how to recreate the look on my own. I was curious about the MagicShield keratin treatment and she told me everything about it! Not only the price but how long it would take, four hours, which is important information! Informed on everything. It was very helpful. Finally I’ll just comment on the salon itself. It’s pretty large but not crowded which is nice. Plenty of space between stylists so you’re not crammed in. It looks very sleek. Plenty of light. A nice sitting area. I really do love how open it was. It was also clean and updated. Lots of natural light as well. There was no surprise charges and they even had Apple Pay available. The receptionist knew who washed my hair and everything I had done. I was able to leave a tip in an envelope with her so I didn’t have to find or interrupt anyone. So to sum it up I will be going back and I do highly...

10 months after arriving in NJ from Europe and not knowing anyone who could recommend a hair salon.. I finally found the most amazing salon and stylist ever!!! No kidding... I researched, read every review and even looked at photos for over a hundred salons in union county before making the decision to call From Head to Toe and to say I'm happy I did is an understatement! My gray roots that had been growing out all that time (I was so dismayed I cut some off the ends myself to try and take away some of the drabness) and my old highlights were dull and awful looking. I looked and felt 10 years older but I just couldn't find anywhere that I could feel comfortable going to. Lets face it, going to a beauty salon after 40 can be daunting as we try to navigate our way in our newest selves. Anyway, I called and a very sweet girl answered the phone (Alexis) and when I explained that I need some volume in my now mid fifties hair but wasn't sure if I wanted to highlight or not, she simply said it was no problem and could be decided when I come in and was able to accommodate me the very next day. The salon has its own parking which was great and as soon as i walked in I could feel the welcoming atmosphere and relaxed attitudes from everyone. Then I met my stylist.. Noreen.. This lady is PHENOMENAL!! She is stunning and classy and that just sold me on the place but I still needed to see if I'd get what I asked for and I most certainly did. After a quick consultation she got to work fixing my handy work and then the highlights. The vibe was easy and professional at the same time. A steady stream of other clients all at ease in this beautiful salon increased my confidence that I'd made a good choice but the final result in my hair took years off my appearance and gave me back some of the lost confidence of my youth. Noreen is the real deal and everyone there is a reflection of her inner light. I've done the research for you... Just go see the girls From Head to Toe for yourself, you will be very happy...

I first went to From Head to Toe back in December the week before the holidays. I went to a different, very popular salon in downtown Scotch Plains, to get my hair dyed a reddish brown color (which i had done in the past for over a decade, but i let it grow out for a bit and now wanted it back). The other salon totally messed up the color and left my roots a terrible orange color and overall uneven color throughout. When i called to ask that other salon to come in for a correction they told me they had nothing for a month, i would have to pay to have someone else there fix it, and to just keep washing my hair and it would eventually fade (wrong that was making it worse and more orange).

I couldnt leave my hair like that, especially for the holidays, and i started looking for somewhere new. Thats when i found Noreen and From Head to Toe and could not have been happier!!! Noreen got me in for a quick consult the next day to assess the color and what she needed to do to fix it. Needing a few hours to correct it properly she wanted me to come back a day when she had time to do it right. I work full time and could only come in on Saturday and they were totally booked. Noreen, being the wonderful person she is, opened the salon an hour early to accommodate me that Saturday. She did an absolutely amazing job with my hair, completely fixed the color and even squeezed in a hair cut. She assured me she would never make me wait a month for a correction if i ever needed one (which i definitely wont bc her hair color skills are amazing!)
