Apparently Yorkies Are a Biohazard, but Rotten Onions Are Just Fine
So I stopped by Glover’s Produce, not exactly Whole Foods, mind you—where my wife and I were told our 5-pound Yorkie puppy wasn’t allowed inside. Why? Because some other dog peed on the floor once.
Yes, seriously. Because one mystery mutt marked a squash six months ago, my puppy—who was being HELD in my wife’s arms—was banned like he’s some four-legged menace to society.
Let me paint the picture: • No visible health rating (because spoiler alert, they’re not inspected by the health department) • Produce sweating in the heat like it’s on day three of a hostage situation • Flies doing laps around the tomatoes like they’re in the Indy 500 But sure—our little fluffball is the public health threat here.
I guess airborne puppy pee is more dangerous than the army of fruit flies staging a coup on the cantaloupes.
Look, if you’re going to act like you’re running a sterile operating room, maybe start by getting inspected by someone other than your cousin Earl. Until then, maybe ease up on the “no dogs” policy for pets that are cleaner than half the onions in the bin.

Read moreThe staff is always friendly and helpful!! They usually have a wide selection of veggies...nuts...fruits and plants. Prices are excellent and I've been told by the staff that anything that I purchase that's bad or not up to my satisfaction can be exchanged as long as you have the receipt on the item that you're unhappy with. Big pot holes...peeling pavement and just an overall mess and it's deteriorating faster and faster. If it's unaffordable to repave...maybe digging it up and adding gravel to park on??? Even tho the parking lot is awful...I'll keep patronizing until my car finally disappears in one of the big...
