Culver City’s hidden gem 💎 I can’t decide who’s better- the library or the people who work there or maybe the amazing Zen garden outside?! When driving down (or up) Overland Ave next time around, take a moment to take in the peace and tranquility exuding from the full and authentic Japanese garden, once upon a time donated to our small city by the Japanese. The library itself is quite small in size however there’s a corner for students to study, computers to work and print from, some seating areas (although seats fill up quickly from what I recall)and if I remember correctly, there is also an audiobook area as well. My favorite thing about the Culver City Julian Dixon library, apart from the lovely Zen paradise growing out front, would have to be the FREE and SWIFT option to put in an order/request for ANY book you might be looking for, even if it’s not in their inventory, and have it delivered there from other larger public libraries. The process is quick and reliable and there’s always someone there to help you should you need further assistance in finding your written treasure. 🤓📚🧑🏫

Read moreLaura Frakes and Julio Santoyo are wonderful people and that's what's really important about the library. They are just good people and care about the community and that is simply rare and simply beautiful. The library is super peaceful and super quiet with tons of great books including a wonderful section for children I have 4 year old. Laura is really wonderful and I have had awesome conversations with her about books and life and everything. She's really great and needs a promotion and some freakin appreciation. And all the other nerdy yet surprisingly hot crew is really helpful and cool. Well not that cool but at least there beautiful. There's always tons of kids there and the craz uh mentally challenged people are kept in check and never act too wild or wild at all actually. The parking tough so you might have to hit the streets. Awesome wonderful Library with plenty of computers and such a peaceful safe...
Read moreI have been very happy with the selection of books in this library system and the ease of the online inter-library hold process, but if you have kids find another library because they are clearly not welcome here. My children have never been unruly, or loud but the librarians treat you like your kids are monsters. One example: My 2 year old was quietly playing in the childrens' book area when she jumped up and told me she needed to use the bathroom (loud enough that the librarian should have been able to hear it was the bathroom we were going to an not our car). As we started to leave the children's area the librarian rudely told us that we better not be leaving and that we had to come back to put away the toys we were playing with. After several more similar instances I have decided it's worth my time to drive out of the way to visit other...
