I'm a serious collector of comics. I've also been a store manager of a comic shop for several years and thus have become very knowledgeable about comic collecting. I've spent hundreds of dollars here mainly because the books are usually kept in fair condition and they have great prices on rare comics as well.
I have rated this place one star because I have gotten key book story line issues pulled from my subscription list and sold to some one else. Many times have there been incidences where key books I had on my subscription list have been missing because they "didn't order enough." These are main Marvel issues whose print run is usually in the thousands, so there's plenty to go around.
The employees are not very friendly and I have noticed treated me differently. I did not feel welcome there and every time I came to pick up my subscription felt as if I was being judged. It was very difficult to strike up a conversation or even nerd out. I felt unwelcome.
I will not be purchasing from them ever again.
So here's a warning to any serious collector. Prepare to not get all the books you ask for no matter the variant cover nor the issue. Doesn't matter if its a new or old issue, they will withhold information from you and take issues from your subscription list.
A comic collectors nightmare. Prepare...
Read moreHands down my favorite comic book store of all time, and I say this as someone that’s been shopping for comics all over the country for over 30 years.
This store has everything - new releases, collections/TPBs, manga, back issues, plus toys and statues. They offer a subscription service for new releases, new TPBs and hardcovers are discounted up to 30%, used collections and manga are available at even deeper discounts, back issues including dollar boxes, I could go on all day!
I stop in at least every other week and there’s always something new for me to discover (and buy).
Not to mention the staff, who are super friendly and helpful. You can tell they love comics because they’re talking about the all the time! Spend any time here and you’ll overhear some great conversations, whether it’s helping a customer find the next great scifi comic book series or an in-depth analysis of Zatanna’s powers!
If it’s not already clear, I love this place! I hear that they’re going to be moving locations soon (sometime after June 2025), and can’t wait to see what they do with...

This is a cold, dismissive place; starkly contrasted to the otherwise well stocked and welcoming looking store. If only the staff felt the rest of us lowly comic book readers were worthy of their good graces.
I don't like being treated like the nervous energy in the store is my fault, or that I'm not allowed on the team unless my hair is green or I wear a Captain Marvel jacket.
Pulp Fiction Comics on Sepulveda is proof that at the end of the day, comic book communities are an isolationist, rude and cynical bunch, sneering at the "normies."
They have no problem taking your money though, while they're treating you like some kind of criminal at the register.
I will be taking my business to the other nearby comic store, where I'm not made to feel like...
