The studio is clean and parking is relatively easy. I took a yin class last night after work to try to unwind.
Unfortunately, the instructor Catie I believe her name was, talked throughout the entire class. I mean this literally, I don’t think there was pause or silence for more than 5 minutes total in a 60 minute class.
While a few insights or yogic teachings sprinkled into a class at the right time can be interesting, I found myself genuinely surprised and challenged by how much this teacher seemed to need to hear herself talk and regurgitate all sorts of ramblings and woo woo ideology. At one point she was taking about how we should buy socks for our friends, and sleep more on our left side if we felt we wanted to feel more feminine, there were lists she was reciting like remember these 5 things, do good, be happy, dance, yadda yadda.
It is my understanding that yoga is supposed to help you get out of your mind and into your body, unfortunately when someone is continually talking this becomes difficult.
In short, definitely not my cup of tea, and just fair warning for others who might want something more...

Finally, I found Yoga Salt! The teachers are so talented, warm, and intuitive. The studio vibe is mellow and minimalist. And the 75-minute classes are perfect for getting sweaty on the mat. After a few months of class passes, I was hooked and joined with a monthly membership. I still trek to SaMo occasionally when my schedule allows, but I am happy to call...
Read moreAll around good vibes here. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. The instructor, JJ, introduced himself to me when he learned it was my first time.
The class was full (Friday 4:30pm) and I showed up kind of later than I’d have liked, but I was able to find a spot without any trouble.
The room was much hotter than I anticipated. That’s not to say it was too hot, I just didn’t realize I had signed up for a heated yoga class.
JJ had some very unique cues that helped me find new shapes in poses I’ve practiced many times before. I appreciated his instruction.
While this is a personal opinion, I felt disconnected to the music and felt the playlist lacked cohesiveness between songs with regards to energy, volume...
