Update: After a month of leaving my review, received an expectedly false and combative response from this business, not only refusing to take any responsibility for their actions but fabricating new information, passing on blame and trying to belittle my experience, which I shared transparently and understanding full well the gravity of my comments, despite their attempts to characterize it as "irresponsible" and "manipulative" only because they would rather not have any of this shared. I ask the business to please release the “camera footage” that they claim to have of me “coming from Crossroads” - a store that I have NEVER visited. They will not be able to do this, as it simply isn’t true. My husband dropped me off by the parking lot in front of the restaurant to grab coffee for us, and I just needed to use the restroom while there, which would not have been a problem at any other restaurant. In addition, they are now claiming that the person who identified herself as the “manager” is in fact not the manager, but a “valued customer”, adding to how convoluted their story is. Being a small or family owned business is NOT an excuse for being rude, discriminatory or harassing customers.
Original review: Awful place with extremely rude management. Discrimination, intimidation and harassment of customers.
Have lived in this area for a few years and this has been the absolute worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant anywhere in LA. Went in to order a drink and used the restroom while I was there. As soon as I came out, a woman, who later identified herself as the manager, yelled right at me in front of the rest of the staff and customers and said “this restroom is for customers only.” I tried to tell her I was waiting for my husband and we were to get a coffee, yet she wouldn’t listen and continued to yell at me saying “are you a customer?” Again, I mentioned I was going to order. Meanwhile, the owner, an older white man, continued to stand there and not say a word, watching on as I was humiliated by her. I waited for my order in line and told the woman that it was extremely uncalled of her to jump to conclusions, when another young man intervened, smirking and said “she was just telling you the rules, or we could have just ask you to get out.” The owner then also jumped to the manager’s defense and went on to tell me that they had “all sorts of people” come in to use the restroom from the grocery store across the street, essentially accepting that they had profiled me as soon as I walked in. When I called them out for their behavior and asked if I was being treated this way because I was brown, they became instantly defensive and agitated, and the woman said she was "Mexican, which could be considered brown too" as though that somehow excused her from acting in a discriminatory way, and went on to say I was being too “sensitive.” Left this place in tears. My husband saw this and went back in to talk to them, where the woman took him to the side and did ultimately apologize for how they had behaved, but I think it’s important to share what kind ownership/ management you’ll find here if you choose to eat here. I’m never compelled to leave reviews, and don’t expect much looking at their rude responses to other negative reviews (which others have called out as well), however I’m truly disgusted by their actions and hope this incident forces them to take a closer look at how they treat...
Read moreI almost never give bad reviews, and especially when I wanna cheer on a small business. Plus I see many people raving about this place which I don’t know if I just happened to have a collectively inherently bad experience, but I cannot believe how every aspect of this pizza was wrong.
It looked amazing in the showcase window for pizza by the slice. But when I asked for gluten-free they did not have it by the slice & they said it would only take 10 minutes to wait and get a small pizza
So I go to order and couldn’t believe that first of all I’m told it’s $26 plus for just a small pepperoni pizza!
but I think maybe it must be gourmet or some authentic New York style because it did look good in the showcase window
so I went ahead to pay for it and then the gal who had only taken the order from behind the counter asked if I wanted to leave a tip and handed me the processor where it asked for 15, 20 or 25% (of which I’m already sticker shocked by the price for the pizza so I only gave 10% even tho all she did was process the money and take an order for a dang simple pepperoni pizza)
That’s fine just bring me the pizza and I’m hungry.
I was shocked at how bad it looked when it came out!
Nothing like how the pizza in the showcase window looked.
First of all, it was undercooked,
Second of all the crust was cardboard and tasteless.
Thirdly, the cheese was rubbery and had no taste and
The sauce was watered down with not much of it as it was and utterly tasteless as well
the pepperoni was just meh.
Plus, it tasted like there was too much salt added on the top (perhaps to try to get some semblance of flavor for the pizza)
So it was everything wrong with every possible facet of everything we love about pizza
Then to add insult to injury was, upon paying for it three times as much as you would for a pizza like that, I’m asked to give a tip for someone who just processed the order behind the counter.
I will say the nicest aspect was that the ambience looked nice (even though it’s a noisy street corner), but it was nicely designed - however no one was in the place (& maybe this non pizza trying to call itself a pizza is why?)
I don’t feel comfortable leaving a bad review because I want a local business to do well,
but I really hope that the owners of this get word and do something about the regular pizza.
I would’ve much rather had a supermarket store-bought frozen pizza for what would’ve been a fourth of the price
And I usually have cauliflower crust or gluten-free thru the store and it’s delicious - so I’m not picky in that way!
Yes, I may be rambling right now, but it’s because I am in disbelief at how bad this experience and this pizza was.
(was their normal cook gone and someone didn’t know what they’re doing? Don’t think so though cuz at least maybe the sauce or cheese or crust or pepperoni would have had flavor but it was devoid of taste)
There. Rant complete. Had to say it because of how bad it was. Apologies to anyone who might be insulted but it’s the truth of the...
Read moreI've been to Wall St Pizza a few times now., maybe about 6 times now. Every time I visit this business I always feel like home. Special shout out to Tiffany for always being attentive and prompt with serving my food and drinks. A great place to come watch the games while having a slice a pizza and a beer. I always get their special which includes a slice of pizza of your choice and a draft beer. Tiffany always gives the best recommendation btw! The owner Richard is also always dope always makes you feel welcomed and cracks some jokes with you. Overall the pizza is delicious and for the price I don't think any pizza parlor can beat that. I always go in to watch the Clippers and 49ers game and never have I had an issue here. I have also tried their pasta and even the cook came out to ask how it was. I definitely would recommend this location for a group of friends looking for a good time with delicious pizza while enjoying a nice cold brew or even for a lone wolf like myself that is in the mood for some NY style pizza! Oh don’t forget to try a new dish that Tiffany created called the “knot pockets” it isn’t on the menu yet but you can still...
