I love supporting smaller business but this one in my experience isn’t it. As a returning ceramist, I took a class here 2021. They are not very flexible if you miss a class and some of the instructors are questionable. What I mean is they are knowledgeable but I had an experience with one here that was rude. Her name was Melody and long story short, she became very upset with me for being 10 min late. It was very clear it made the whole class uncomfortable and I should have just walked out immediately. I understand it’s a class and coming in late is a disruption but her disciplinary attitude towards me was uncalled for. Very Teach vs Student vibe. We are all adults and no one should be treated less. If you are a beginner or returning ceramist, I’d highly consider trying out POT LA or better yet Still life in Santa Monica. Better prices and better...
Read moreI had a weird experience at this studio. The owner fired my teacher in the middle of our class series without giving any of us notice, offering an explanation, or really easing the transition in any way. I felt it was handled poorly and really disrupted my experience.
Heads up also that that they also don’t allow class make-ups, nor do they offer free studio time. It’s quite expensive so I was surprised to learn that if you want to come in to work or practice outside of class, you have to pay $75 per “creative time” session. I’m at The Pottery Studio (Culver City) now and I like it a lot more. There’s a much better continuity of instructors, a much larger space to work in, and best of all you have full access to the studio from 10 am to 10 pm...
Read moreI cannot share enough amazing words about this magical place! I came in at a time in my life when I needed to heal and Good Dirt LA did more than that for me. I made close friends that I see outside of class, grew to LOVE working with clay and find it to be the best part of my week. Such a relaxing and stress free time. The studio owner, Lina, is fantastic and cares about all of the students. Good Dirt LA truly is a family and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start or grow in this hobby/art form! 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and any other perfect scoring method you...
