The store manager Jim was so rude and sarcastic not only to me but multiple customers as well. Im 16 and hispanic. Gave attitude for no reason and was bullying me. Even after I mentioned that I don’t want to cause a scene he started raising his voice and yelling when I asked to get something at closing time. “No i dont care that’s your fault just go” while rolling his eyes and sighing. To give context, i asked to get candles which would take a second when it was only 3 minute after closing time and they were still working and checking out my items. By the time they were done checking out my items I would’ve gotten the candles and it wouldn’t have delayed the process in any way. After the manager allowed me to go find the candle, one of employees followed up by saying in a rude tone “it’s very inconsiderate of you guys to do this we’re done we just want to go home”. As I was getting the two items, about the entire team of workers were following me and constantly bothering me saying “we’re closed we’re closed we’re closed”. we got permission to get this item but the workers were rushing me and making me feel uncomfortable. i’m not the type of person to go out of my way to write bad reviews, but this affected my entire family. we all felt targeted and felt like we weren’t being serviced fairly. Im not even saying it was all the employees, the cashier Madhuri M gave me excellent customer service and honestly had way more of the traits for a higher...
Read moreIf you need help finding something plan to be frustrated at the fact that the employees don’t know where or what most stuff is. Ok so my girlfriend and I have experienced poor service at least 2 separate times here. One example was I needed a cheap wooden cross, like the kind you might paint for fun as a part of my Halloween costume (I was a goat priest). Well the guy checkin is out made a comment that there was no sticker on the cross. I said I remember the price as I only came for that one item. He said something like “hmm, you got the only one without a sticker” implying that I removed it and was trying to get it for cheaper. He just stared at me and told me I could run back there and get another one as if my other option was to walk out with nothing. I was taken back as there was a line behind us, which was already stressful so my girlfriend felt pressured and had to run there and back just to confirm my originally stated price by bringing a cross with a sticker. My thing is would he have made an elderly lady run back to get a sticker? The next time we went, there was only one register open so we were in a long line of people as the customer had many things to be scanned and something was taking forever. A HL employee came to open another line and told the two people in front to go to a new line to be served but didn’t...
Read moreThis is my second interaction with this manager, and I’m honestly disappointed. He’s an older, bald white male, and I believe he’s the store manager. Unfortunately, he has been consistently rude and passive-aggressive in his approach. During my recent visit, I was shopping and had my hands full, so I placed a few items in a crafts tote bag I was purchasing. Without greeting me or offering assistance, he approached me and sternly told me that I needed to grab a cart and couldn’t put items in the bag. He didn’t offer a polite explanation or any customer service at all—no “Hi, how are you?” or “Would you like me to grab a cart for you?” It would’ve been much more considerate to explain the policy kindly, like, “Unfortunately, it’s against company policy to place items in a bag.”
As a person of color, I couldn’t help but wonder if his first thought was that I was trying to steal something. He was overly harsh for no reason, so I decided to ask him directly if he could bring me a cart, which he did. The cashiers here are always great, but this manager really leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to...
