My rating on this review is based only on this particular facility and not the whole chain. I have been a long term guest here. The rooms are decent but overall the place is no frills. There are some insects including cockroaches. The staff is okay. The management is not. Management is more intent on enforcing rules and regulations than on working with their guest to help resolve problems. They just resort to evictions and this hurts some guests, having nowhere but the streets to go to. There have been some angry, and even irate guests come through here. Law enforcement is called here a lot. There is ongoing crime in the parking lot. Management targets some guests with their draconian rules and regulations while leaving others alone, who are clearly breaking the same rules. Therefore, management shows preferential treatment to certain guests. I guess that if you are planning on becoming a long term guest here, good luck that the management holds you in their good graces. Continued review 5/27/22... Hotel staff were okay. Hotel management was not nice to us. Specifically the female manager of the facility. Three guests cars (that I know of) were towed away for vehicle code violations. Including my parents car. It was their only car and the expenses needed to get the car out was too much, leaving us stranded at this hotel. At the same time we were given an eviction notice. The notice in the photo was given to me, as well as posted on the front and back window while I was sitting in the car. I was handed one too and they stated that the car had expired tags. But when I confronted the manager about it later she said that the car was abandoned even though I was sitting in it at the time and it had been moved recently. She (the manager) was the one who handed me the notice while I was sitting in the car. Numerous other cars with expired tags were not towed (12 cars with expired tags as I write this). There are some vehicles parked on the property that are in apparent disrepair and have not been moved ever since I was staying here at the hotel (6 months). Two motor homes are parked next to the building obstructing views from guests in the rooms right next to them. I've heard one guest complaining about that. The management here harassed my mom on the phone until she was crying. The hotel itself is no frills. There are some insects in the room as well as cockroaches. It seems the stay here is better for the guests the manager likes. The guests she does not like do get bad treatment. One family (with 5 kids) had nowhere but the streets to go to. Five guests that I know of given eviction notices are all white. The supervisor is hispanic. My parents are elderly and had nowhere to go to when served with an eviction notice. The hotels slogan is "Stay Awhile" but caveat emptor, only if you are in the managers good graces. At least at this facility. Another of the companies slogans reads "Where genuine care is always there". From personal experience with the manager, as well as my parents, I beg to differ. I've spoken with some other guests here and heard similar horror stories. I would not stay here (at this facility) again! Crime in the parking lot as well as loud talking under my window. Meth users, as well as meth distribution, on the property. Loud barking dogs down the hall keeps me awake. Bugs in the room. Not bicycle friendly. The manager had a guys locked bicycle removed from the property (where was he to lock it up at - no bicycle racks). There is no place to lock up a bicycle here except the fence. Manager favors some guests and disfavors other guests. My family is one guest she doesn't like. Manager has called the animal control on our dog three times. She has posted eviction notices in quadruplicate as well as other papers on the front of our door. She is also harassing some other guests that I know of. Good luck if you book here. I have already turned some people away from this place in person. Manager occasionally would come in our room with a mask on invading our privacy. Numerous safety hazards on property.

The place is decent yet I have my cons. The staff is friendly and nice. They all did there best to be helpful. The rooms are decent size and pretty clean. Full kitchen, stove top, and fridge. Plenty of parking. The cons are really the people who stay here. They leave there trash outside of the door for staff to pick up so it can appear messy at times. The hallways smell like trash. They need some kind of fabreeze spray on timer. People with dogs leave poop in the grass and it's disgusting and smells. People also leave trash outside in random places. The grounds around the back are dirty. Waking up to seeing this and paying $120 a day to wake up to trash and dog poop. Seems wierd and makes you think does the Hyatt house next door have these problems? Yet just because the hotel is less a night mean that you get what you pay for. Or does Extended Stay America have a standard that is not being upheld to the highest degree because of the nature of those who stay here. Just seems as tho when it comes to these details this hotel is lacking and this is one of the cleaner Extended stays. I get tha alot of people are displaced and many are living in Extended stays until they find permanent housing yet does that mean that dog poop and trash should be all around? It's frustrating. When you think about some spend $3,400 a month to stay here that's luxury living yet this is not luxury. Don't get me wrong it's decent but if I could afford better I would not stay.

The good: Great location! The bad: COCKROACHES The ugly: More cockroaches and management does NOT care! We've been there several times, but in the last few times, we've had some uninvited guests: COCKROACHES! These creatures were running around, on the carpet, on the wall, on the floor. One was on the shower curtain and fell in the tub during my shower! There were roaches in the kitchen drawer near pots and pans. There were live ones, there were dead ones...We don't like to complain, but we were compelled to mention it to the managers, Anjo and Jen. To my surprise, their attitude was like a: "NO big deal", here is twenty bucks "discount"! How insulting! After that, we finally checked the reviews and we found out that roaches have been an ongoing problem for this "roach motel" and apparently, not much has been done. In addition, our room had NO SMOKE DETECTOR, which is a serious safety violation! I can provide photo and video with GPS location tag to support all my claim! And all these... not to mention the smell!!

Extended stay America cypress

FIRST AND FOREMOST, THIS HOTEL IS ADVERTISED AS A NON SMOKING PROPERTY, WITH NON SMOKING ROOMS OUR NON SMOKING ROOM SMELLS LIKE AN FRICKEN ASHTRAY! SOMEONE DEFINITELY SMOKED IN ROOM! THERE'S NO WAY THE HOTEL CAN SAY NO ONE DID! TURNED ON THE AC AND IMMEDIATE ASHTRAY SMELL FILLED THE ROOM EVEN WORSE. I KNOW BECAUSE I USED TO SMOKE, AND NEVER NOTICED THAT SMELL UNTIL I QUIT. CHECKING IN: REPRESENTATIVE NOT ONCE EXPLAINED ANY OF THE HOTEL OFFERINGS OR AMENITIES, LIKE EVERY OTHER EXTENDED STAY GUEST SERVICES DOES. LIKE HOW THE WIFI WORKS, OR HOW TO EVEN HOOK UP TO WIFI, LET ALONE NOT ONCE STATING THAT THEY EVEN OFFERED WIFI. I DONT CARE IF I RESERVED ON THEIR OFFICIAL WEBSITE OR ON ANOTHER SITE. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS WELCOME YOUR GUESTS, WHICH WASN'T DONE AT CHECK IN LET ALONE HAVING TO RING THE BELL TO GET SOME TO HELP US. WE WEREN'T WELCOMED, NO HELLO GOOD EVENING WELCOME OR WHATEVER. IT WAS COLD MONOTONE VOICE. " HOW CAN I HELP YOU?". WE WALKED IN AFTER ANOTHER GUEST WAS LEAVING, BUT STILL HAD TO RING THE BELL AND THEN PROCEED TO STILL WAIT A FEW MINUTES FOR THE STAFF COME TO THE FRONT DESK. REALLY, I HAD TO RING THE BELL AT THE FRONT DESK TO GET HELP . YET WHEN WE PULLED IN THERE WAS SOMEONE ELSE CHECKING IN. WE WALKED IN LITERALLY NO MORE THAN 5 MINS AFTER THEM AND NO ONE AT THE LOBBY DESK????? WERE THEN HANDED ROOM KEYS, WHILE BEING TOLD OUR ROOM NUMBER. NO LITTLE FOLDER WITH THE KEYS IN IT ALONG WITH YOUR ROOM NUMBER WRITTEN DOWN. INSTEAD JUST TWO ROOM CARDS HANDED OVER WHILE BEING TOLD OUR ROOM NUMBER. ALSO WHILE CHECKING MY GIRLFRIEND NOTICED THE BREAKFAST AD ON THE SCREEN IN THE LOBBY, AND SAID OH BREAKFAST TOO BABE. I TOLD HER THAT, THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS I PICKED THIS HOTEL, ALONG WITH BEING A MEMBER. EVEN AFTER ALL OF THAT NOT ONCE DID THE REPRESENTATIVE SAY A SINGLE WORD ABOUT THE BREAKFAST. WHEN IT STARTS OR ENDS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I HAD TO CALL DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK AND ASK HIM WHEN THEY OFFERED BREAKFAST. 6AM TO 930AM (JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS) YES, I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE ARE SAYING, LOOK AT THE WEBSITE. BUT THE WEBSITE IS FOR EXTENDED STAY AMERICA HOTELS, WHICH STATES A STANDARD ACROSS THE BOARD FOR THEIR HOTELS. WHICH IS WHY I'M WRITING THIS! THIS HOTEL NEEDS CORPORATE HELP! NO WAY IS THIS THE SAME AS THE REST OF THE EXTENDED STAYS I'VE STAYED AT OUR WHAT IS REPRESENTED ON THEIR CORPORATE WEBSITE! ALSO, NOT A SINGLE ICE MAKER IN THE HOTEL AND THIS IS A 3 STORY FACILITY. BUT AGAIN NO ICE. FOUND OUT BY SEARCHING MY FLOOR AND NOTHING. WENT TO THE FRONT DESK TO ASK AND THAT'S WHEN I WAS ENLIGHTENED THAT THERE IS NO ICE MAKERS, BUT THAT THERE ARE ICE CUBE TRAYS IN THE ROOM, SIR. BUT YOU HAVE TO FILL THEM THEN WAIT FOR THE WATER TO FREEZE SO YOU HAVE ICE LAST TIMEI CHECKED. SO, I REPLIED BACK TO THE FRONT DESK REPRESENTATIVE (WAS THE SAME GUY THE WHOLE TIME) THAT IN THAT CASE MY ICE WOULDN'T BE READY UNTIL LATER THAT EVENING OR THE NEXT DAY. WHICH DOESN'T OBVIOUSLY HELP ME IN ANYWAY.....I MEAN THEY SERVE BREAKFAST BUT DON'T HAVE AN ICE MAKER OR RATHER THEY HAVE ONE BUT THE GUESTS CAN'T USE IT. BUT THEY HAVE ICE IN THE MORNING FOR BREAKFAST AMAZINGLY.....MUST BE A TON A MONEY BUYING BAGS OF ICE FOR BB BALLAST EVERY MORNING. WERE HERE FOR A WEDDING, SO KINDA JANKY, GOING FROM BEING ON A HIGH TO CHECKING IN AND BEING COMPLETELY LET DOWN. AFTER WRITING THIS AND POSTING. I NOTICED THE OTHER REVIEWS AND AM ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHED THAT THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT REPLIES WITH THE SAME THING. " WE'RE SORRY AND AM MAKING THE EFFORT TO FIX THINGS" ALONG WITH THANKING THE GUEST FOR LETTING THEM KNOW. BUT.... THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THINGS! SOME OF THESE REVIEWS ARE OLDER THAN A MONTH WHICH IS ENOUGH TIME TO FIX THINGS...." ONLY IF THEY...

The staff is nice, though very unhelpful.

I’ve stayed at other ESA’s and know it’s a no frills hotel and that was perfect for this trip. We needed a clean, safe place to stay and unfortunately this place is not it. Absolutely horrible stay and no contact from the manager, yet. Though I’m not surprised due to the lack of communication the staff displays.

Room was booked for 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog.

Room only had 2 pillows for the whole room, when I inquired about more pillows (if you could call them that, they are the size of small throw pillows for your couch)I was informed there were no pillows available per Alyssa. How does a hotel not have the appropriate amount of pillows or any additional pillows on the premises.

The room itself was disgusting and not clean. Hairs everywhere, including in the “clean” towels. I understand it’s a pet friendly hotel, though if we are paying additional money for “disinfecting” the room, the tells of animals should be minimal. Trash all in the hallways and by the elevators.

The kitchen has a sign that states if you need kitchen supplies to call down. I attempted to call down to the front desk multiple times (for other reasons other than kitchen needs) and no one picked up. When I went down Alyssa stated they couldn’t bring them up and you had to get them anyways. What I was handed was disgusting. The dish drainer and dishes had old dried food on them.

The bathroom tub wouldn’t turn all the way off and at this point I gave up on trying to call down.

The free breakfast is small packaged muffins, coffee and hot water. They have an area for oatmeal but never once saw oatmeal available.

The last night there I was ready to check out when I saw a small roach in the bathroom, though it was 12 am and we deemed it unfair to wake the kids up and were leaving in the morning. They know they have roaches, too because the kitchen has roach bait (which should be disclosed when you have animals traveling with you)

The amount of shady people around is also alarming, giving the location is in an industrial area.

I requested a late check out with a blonde lady and she stated she would make a note and let the staff know. The day of check out, Mona(I believe was her name) was knocking on the door letting us know it was time. I advised that I requested a late check out and described the women. Luckily she knew who I was referring to but also didn’t seem surprised that the request wasn’t written down - hence my previous comment about lack of communication.

Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend and most likely won’t stay at...
