I'd only recommend these apartments to those who are just completely homeless with no where else to go. With my own personal experience I believe that's the type of mindset they expect you to have while living here for most people. I've lived here for a year now and I've noticed there's a major case of favoritism going on around here.
When my family and I first moved here we asked about the area and we were told more or less it's best to stay to ourselves and mind our own business which we did anyway. I was personally told that "games" aren't tolerated so I was under the impression that it would be peaceful and everyone respected one another. It was okay for a little while until the neighbor above us began to let their child run back and forth and it sounded as if she was jumping off of something and her impact would shake our ceiling and walls.
I'd come home late at night tired from work and the moment I closed my eyes trying to rest I'd hear loud boom's on the ceiling and it would make me jump out of my sleep because it was so loud I'd believe someone was banging on our door. We informed management about the issue and despite us telling who exactly was making the loud noises we were told "I don't know who it could be" "They are nuns" and then told despite our better judgement that it wasn't actually the neighbor's above us who were running back and forth and jumping off of things but the neighbors on top of them with little children who were running and jumping SO hard that it was going through the apartment down to ours...
I understand that there are a few people with a few screws loose after walking around for some time but my family and I are not one of them and I don't appreciate our intellect being counted among them as if we would believe such a ridiculous tale. I was told later on that the neighbor above us lived here for a while and attended the managers church so things slowly begin to connect together as to why nothing was being done about the issue and silly excuses were made to either attempt to justify her actions or turn a blind eye to the situation.
I honestly don't know what purpose the security serves here. With the exception of a couple the majority of them sit at their desk doing nothing more than playing on their phones. With them being too friendly with the residents here I believe it puts some in the mindset that they can get away with certain things and it would be over looked by the security. The people who live here should have a key to operate the elevators and if they don't then they most likely don't live in the building.
I was given to believe security was supposed to stop those individuals from making their way onto the elevators. Yet for some reason despite me being a resident here and with my key in hand, I'M the one stopped quite often and questioned "Where are you going?" "Do you live here?" "What apartment do you live in?". They hardly EVER catch the one's quickly hopping onto the elevators who actually don't belong in the building. When I did actually witness one of the guards telling someone he wasn't allowed on the elevator if he didn't live here the security guard told ME to stop him from getting on as I passed by.
If you're ordering out I'd suggest you be down stairs and ready to meet the delivery because there's a good chance they will send your delivery away. My sister ordered for pizza before and waited for hour's before finally calling to figure out what was taking so long? The delivery guy was highly upset because the security sent him away while he was trying to deliver instead of actually informing her that she had a delivery downstairs waiting.
There is so much more to be told but I've gone on way more than I intended. I DO appreciate that I have somewhere to live but I can't help but believe due to lack of actions being taken that we're supposed to just sit back and tolerate anything and everything simply because you have somewhere to live. So again I would only recommend this place for those who just have no other choice or no...
Read moreEdit to add: as of 2019 this place has become a nightmare. What was once a helpful bubbling community is now a place of scorn and contempt. Security is only there to keep out visitors not actually keep you safe. Management went to hell and regularly embezzle money from residents (legit one is in prison). There is literally no parking for residents or guests. I finally moved after getting physically assaulted for the SECOND TIME at this building. I can no longer recognize or recommend this place
I've lived in this building since it opened. I love it here. I'm a single mom and raised my kids here. There is always a security guard at the front desk, the elevators require a key to operate, guests must leave ID at the front desk, management is friendly (Bernard is like family and really cares about the residents), and maintenance is quick to come fix anything. It's a good place to live, it's a safe place, and it's affordable. I don't plan on...
