This is a beautiful restaurant with a delightful atmosphere. My coworker and I came for lunch. We were greeted with a very cheerful, nice staff. Our waiter Colin seated us and took such great care of us. You are allowed to order off the lunch and dinner menus. I'm not sure you are allowed to order lunch during dinner hours. Be prepared to pay a higher price than you might at somewhere else for lunch. But, it is a more upscaled restaurant. I mean, they have Lobster Brie Grilled Cheese sandwich. And they aren't skimpy with the lobster. So it's definitely worth what I paid. But, I was a little disappointed because, for the amount of fries I got at the price, I paid for the fries. My fries should have been included in my meals. If you get a side, you have to pay extrait, like fries. The sandwich was $20 by it's self, no sides. Besides that, the sandwich was fresh and hot. I'm not gonna lie absolutely delicious! I just think they could have included the fries and upcharged for changes like a different side they had other side options available. This is just a suggestion to the GM Matt Stevens. I got a chance to meet him when we're getting ready to leave. He gave me some information about the restaurant and some new exciting news about the restaurant as well. Did you know the Woolworths building is 140 years old and not only that by one of the oldest buildings downtown Dallas. 🤔 I know my thoughts exactly WOW!. Well, he told me that on July 1st, 2023, they will be shutting down the restaurant. Oh, no, not for good. They are putting 1.5 Million Dollars in remodeling the entire restaurant. Examples: new back bar, menu, new cocktail list and etc. The menu will include items like Steaks and Lobster elevated menu compared to the one they currently have. But don't get too worried they will be back up and running in 6 to 8 weeks. They are planning a Grand Re-Opening. I'm excited, I hope I get invited to it. GM Matt Stevens told me to give him a call, and he would me know when the Grand Re-Opening is. And I'll let yall know, too. Stay tuned.

2nd level restaurant situated in Downtown with overlooking windows all around. It's charming, softly lit and casual enough for a hang, but also nice enough for a date night. The crab nachos were very good. It does come somewhat spicy with jalapeños, Pico and an aoli I believe, so if you're not attuned to heat, get the jalapeños and pico on the side. Drinks were good, not to die for, but well made. Our server was lovely and took good care of us.

Where they lost us:

  1. The seafood pasta dish had extremely watery sauce, leaving the pasta tasting bland. The best thing about that dish was the warm half loaf that came with it.
  2. The caramelized salmon was stated to be cooked Medium. It did come out a tad under toward the middle, less flaky and more raw, deeper pink than the rest of the salmon. The crust of it was the best part and had the most flavor. The mashed potatoes had no life to them, creamy yet dull and lifeless. At this point the dish is better served with just the salmon beside a bed of arugula salad, which besides the crust of the salmon was tasty. There are merits to that dish but it requires some evolution to really make use of that great piece of protein as the Yukon mash could go missing today and I'd never even notice.

We didn't finish either salmon despite our hunger, for the reasons stated. Now while we were offered a round to drown our culinary despair, we opted to simply pay our check and make our way out to pick up some dessert to take home.

Verdict: As is would I come back? Maybe for Happy Hour drinks and crab nachos. The main dinner courses have me seriously deliberating about whether to spend easily $30 a dish for something that doesn't make me damn near want to lick the plate. I'll wait to see if they sort it out before I make my way back,...

Upon stepping into The Woolworth on 2nd this past Saturday to celebrate our 6th anniversary, my wife and I were immediately struck by the recently remodeled ambiance. The host's warm greeting set the tone for a truly exceptional evening. The culinary journey began with Chef Miguel presenting a tantalizing appetizer, showcasing his culinary prowess from the get-go.

The seamless and professional service by our server further heightened the experience. Bliss enveloped us as Chef Miguel personally visited our table, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was attended to with care. His commitment to our satisfaction was palpable, making the occasion feel truly special.

The gastronomic delights that followed were nothing short of spectacular. Each dish exhibited a perfect blend of creativity, quality, and presentation. It was evident that Chef RV, Chef Miguel and General Manager Brandon poured their expertise into crafting a menu that transcended expectations. The flavors danced on our palates, leaving us in awe of the culinary artistry unfolding before us.

The outstanding quality of the food was complemented by an array of drinks that can only be described as exceptional. The attention to detail in mixology and the selection of beverages added an extra layer of sophistication to the overall experience.
