Me and my husband recently were in Dallas for his birthday and to see Usher perform. As a gift a friend booked us in the Hospitality Suite for our stay. I must admit I'm a review reader and was nervous after reading the negative comments from previous guests. Here's our breakdown:
Parking...we are not accustomed to paying to park where we stay especially somewhere that isn't cheap to stay in the first place. But we opted to park ourselves for 30 dollars a day instead of the 50 dollars a day valet. Check In was effortless. They were all friendly and informative. No problem getting in. Our room, we loved the suite we were in. Lots of space, and the room was clean. I am a person that sprays down beds and stuff every time we stay somewhere though. I did see where some were saying a strand of hair was in their bathroom...we had a black strand in our shower as well. Honestly we have traveled 4 times this year and every single time there is a strand of hair somewhere...yes I think it's nasty but unfortunately very common and all hotels should do better in that area. The bathroom was not huge but it was fine for us. I also saw in review the noise of the shower...we heard it once when my husband had the water hot as possible lol but it wasn't detrimental for us personally. We were on the 15th floor and the view was nice. Some complaints were about nasty windows but ours were clean. Since we were in the Suite we had access to the club on the second floor so we had complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, drinks and desserts. We love extras lol The homeless...my husband smokes cigars so he had more interaction with the homeless and they were present. He said there were a lot of them around the area he smoked but he didn't experience anyone bothering him. Food. We only ate at the bar in the hotel and it was high as hell...18 dollars for a burger and fries but everything else was closed. I am unsure if the burgers were as delicious as we thought or we were just hungry but they were good.
All in all we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is huge, the service was good in all areas. Everyone was friendly towards us, if we needed information they were great telling us best ways to move about the city.
The ice machine on our floor was broken and I'm an ice eater my husband went to the front desk and they were kind enough to bring us a...
Read moreNot a fan of this hotel & will definitely avoid it in the future. My stay was one issue after another. The top sheet that covers the duvet was dirty, I move to a new room, then the login page to the internet doesn’t load (redirect was broken) & guest services didn’t know the direct login URL, they had to transfer me to a third party IT partner, insane the hotel staff don’t know this information. The hotel restaurant menu is very limited. Beware of the market, I made a purchase (1 drink because the restaurant didn’t have to go drinks for takeout & 1 cookie), they didn’t give me an itemized receipt, I went back for one, only to find the cashier helped herself to a $1 tip, which I did not leave. The fact that the register in a market, with prepackaged items, even allows tips is ridiculous. Who knows how many others have been subject to this dishonest & illegal behavior. It’s fraud & stealing. The employee made an excuse how she was filling in & hit the wrong button, she’s full of it, adding a tip is not just a slip of a button, it’s multiple buttons. Beware! At night there was no information about calling Draft to put in an order & pick it up, so I called the number on the Google listing. No answer. So I walk down & order at the bar & pay. Then the number I called, calls me back & says I had a missed call from you. It was the manager’s cell phone. Thanks buddy, all set now. Completely dumb to not have the restaurant phone on the listing. Then I notice my bed was not properly made, the bottom sheet didn’t cover all the way to the bottom & left the bare mattress exposed. Gross. I’ve stayed at my fair share of Marriott properties & this has been the worst experience I’ve had. Oh, the rooms are wall to wall carpet, gross, again. It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in a room with carpet.
I can’t even call this hotel & get a live person to ask a question about my bill, without getting caught in the horrible phone tree. Very sad when all companies want to do is prevent you from talking to a...
Read moreIt's a Sheraton. A hotel chain where you can expect to have a nice room and a comfortable bed with excellent service. Well, I was disappointed. The front desk staff was very polite, but not as friendly as most normally are for the BonVoy members line. My room was nice, until I went to unpack and found hairs in the drawers, then found a speck of feces on the bathroom wall next to the toilet. I attempted to contact the front desk and the room phone did not work. I called them on my cell and they promised to send someone up right away and reclean the entire room. Upon return to the room that evening I could tell the room had been cleaned, but the hair was still in the drawers and the speck was still on the wall next to the toilet. I went down to the front desk and showed them pictures. They promised to get it corrected and apologized. Needless to say, I ended my business trip with a friendly reminder, all 5 days, with why I carry Lysol wipes on my trips. They never cleaned the spec or the hairs from the drawers. The TVs are old and do allow for streaming. The location is nice for business with many good restaurants within walking distance. The building itself is old, which means occasional hiccups. Elevator 4 for the north towers should be skipped, especially if you fear being stuck in one. The elevator took a minute to take off and it kept stalling to the point of wondering if it was going to get truly stuck. I rode in that elevator one time and it was with a female passenger who had anxiety the minute it began to stall. I felt really bad for her. I was there for a conference and one of the escalators stopped working day 3 of the 4 day conference. The 3 levels the conference was on were like dealing with the 3 bears AC. The first floor was super cold. the third floor was super hot and the second floor was just right. The pool and gym were nice. Pool had a good city view. The dining choices within the hotel were good, but typical overpriced menu.
Needless to say, hoping your stay is...
