I had to call this venue in regard to tickets bought for an upcoming show. I purchased the tickets a previous night and found out that same night after they were purchased that the show would be canceled, postponed or moved DUE TO SOMETHING GOING ON AT THE VENUE. So I contacted the this venue during NORMAL business hours which are typically 8am-5pm M-F :-). I ended up having to contact the GM who answered the phone starting out in a somewhat pleasant tone. After I politely greeting him and stated the reason for my call he said “so your calling me at 8am in the morning over tickets?!” I paused and said “yes, because that’s what I was instructed to do contact “whoever” in regard to the show being moved, canceled or postponed during their normal business hours.” Which is what I did/was doing. He responded “well we’re not open, we don’t even sell tickets I only picked up my phone because I thought it was an emergency. But go ahead what’s your question about the tickets.” In a nasty tone. I remained polite and explained. He then proceeded to tell me to contact the ticketing company that I actually purchased tickets through as they would be the ones to disclose what will happen next for that show(still in a rushed talking over me tone) I kindly said I’m sorry for the confusion on my end. He responded “umhm” and hung up…. Now I show grace to everyone so I’m not sure if he was having a bad day(already) or morning or whatever the case may be. I did not deserve such a disgusting attitude. I hope and pray whatever his issue is gets better. If it were not for me actually wanting to see the person that I bought tickets for I would get a full refund and not attend a show at THIS facility. Kindness isn’t hard. Business hours are not listed on the website so how would I know that you do not operate under STANDARD business hours FOR A NORMAL CITY AFFILIATED BUSINESS?? I called at an appropriate time. This venue is a “Division of the city of Dallas Arts and Culture” who’s business hours are M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. Was I 30mins too early ? Nonetheless, I am a customer and a polite “we’re not open and you will need to contact the actual ticketing company” would’ve sufficed. The snarky rude rushed attitude was unnecessary and uncalled for. But anyways yeah this was my experience with this facility for the first time ever having to deal with them in any way. I hope the person I want to see books to perform...

About the venue, it was my first time visiting the Majestic Theater. I was very impressed and pleased.
Let me start with the parking; Convenient. Literally right around the corner. A 3 minute walk! The lot was pricey @ $30, but "you pay to play!" (... don't tell my wife I said that!)
The theater; WOW! I sat in the balcony, front row. Directly next to the monitor engineer. The acoustics were superb! Crystal clear! WoW! During one particular set, featuring Ms. Sy Smith, there was one gentleman who was boisterous, but not in a obnoxious way. He added energy to the moment.
The staff; Excellent*! Everyone was professional, friendly and attentive. *Note: I would be remissed to not mention how great the staff was to me personally. Upon leaving the venue, walking to the corner, and crossing the street towards the parking lot, I reached into my pocket to retrieve my car key. Much to my chagrin, it was not there! Panicking, I returned to the theater and asked if they had a lost and found. I was informed they did not have a designated L&F. What they did have...were caring dedicated staff that assisted me in trying to locate my key. They radioed someone on the 3rd floor, where the restroom was located, ahead of me returning to see if it may have fallen out of my pocket there. No such luck. I returned to my seat on the second floor but again, nothing. When I returned downstairs there was a person who met me before I could reach the last step, asking if I was the person looking for a car key. Another patron found it and kindly waited for me to retrieve it! Needless to say, I was extremely appreciative of a stranger's kindness!
In conclusion, my Majestic Theater experience can be summed up in one...
Read moreI've been to this theater several times and always enjoyed it, but today was the exception and it left me with such a bad impression, I probably won't ever go back. I went to a 4PM show which was great, but after the show problems began. Within about 5-10 minutes of the show ending, the theater started making announcements that everyone needed to clear the building so they could make it ready for the next show. People were leaving as quickly as we could, but It was crowded and difficult to get to the stairs, and the line to the bathroom was quite long. We decided to find a different bathroom on a lower floor and eventually made it to the stairs.
On the way down the stairs there was another announcement about clearing the building quickly. We were on our way and going as fast as the crowd would allow us, so I just ignored it. On the 2nd floor I asked a woman at one of the kiosks for a couple of bottles of water and was told that she couldn't sell it to me. What???? She said it was because they were trying to clear the theater. I didn't get it, but didn't argue with her. I asked about a bathroom and she told me there wasn't one on that floor, we'd have to go back up to 3 or to the basement. As we were on our way to the stairs, lights started flashing and another announcement came over the loudspeaker.
At the bottom of the stairs I asked about the bathroom and was told where it was, but that I had to hurry because they had to clear the building for the next show. At this point it was absolutley absurd. It's not like I wandered in off the street and asked to use the bathroom. I purchased tickets, I was a paying customer and I was being kicked out like...
