Extremely Disappointed Review for Hall of State – April 13th Event with FLYShowcase
Our experience with the Hall of State as the venue for the FLYShowcase Charity Fashion Show on April 13th was unfortunately marked by serious mismanagement and a lack of professionalism from the venue team.
From the FLYShowcase side, we fulfilled every obligation in a timely and transparent manner — all payments were made on time, and multiple communications were initiated both via email and in person leading up to the event. Clear timelines and expectations were discussed, including a confirmed 10:00 AM access to the venue on the day of the event.
However, on the morning of April 13th, the venue doors remained locked past the scheduled access time. For two long and extremely stressful hours, our entire team — including models, designers, staff, celebrities, and even our CEO — were left waiting outside with no communication or explanation. This created chaos and deep concern about whether the event would even take place.
To salvage the situation, we had to make emergency arrangements and shift the celebrity guests to a nearby hotel, sending makeup and hair teams there — an unplanned expense and logistical nightmare, all because the Hall of State team failed to open the venue as agreed.
Only after countless frantic calls and emails did a venue staff member finally arrive around noon. Despite the delay, our team worked relentlessly to double up and set everything up in record time so the show could still go on.
Adding to the disappointment, the $x,xxx security deposit we paid upfront was withheld without any immediate explanation. After sending several follow-up emails over the next few weeks, we finally received a response a month later, citing some disorganized chairs, a stain on the wall, and a carpet mark — none of which were reported to us during or right after the event. At this point, it's impossible to confirm whether these issues were even related to our event.
This delayed and vague communication, lack of accountability, and refusal to return our security deposit — despite the clear disruptions and additional costs we incurred due to their delay — reflects extremely poor client treatment. We, The FlyShowCase, as an organization that hosts high-profile events, this experience was far from the standard we uphold or expect.
We hope the Hall of State takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates their approach to client service and accountability and duly refund us. Until then, we cannot recommend this venue for professional or high-stakes events.

Read moreMy husband and I just got married here in April. It is a stunning space (seriously, people can't stop talking about how beautiful our wedding was), and was very affordable. Nora (though difficult to reach at times) was incredibly helpful, and did everything she could to make our day great. The only reason I will not be giving the Hall of State 5 stars is our experience the night of the wedding was tainted by a VERY rude employee, who screamed (this is NOT an exaggeration) at some of my family and friends, "How about you stop standing around and actually DO something?!" while everyone was attempting to pack up, clean, and leave the hall. I understand that it was late, but these people were trying their absolute hardest to get everything done, and to be treated in such a disrespectful manner is not only unprofessional--it is embarrassing. They weren't just standing around. They were working. And I'm sure your employee (I do not know her name) was very tired, but there is really no excuse for speaking to people the way she did. I am very, very disappointed that such a magical evening ended in such a rude and disgusting way. Please speak to your employees about how to treat humans. They seem to have forgotten...
