I was there yesterday after 3 years to see if anything changed but so disappointed with the treatment. The person at the counter looked so angry. This place has some of the best gelato but not sure why they can't seem to hire any friendly staff. My God, Carlo find some people that are nice to work at the counter. For God's sake this is an ice cream shop and people come here to celebrate and have a nice time.
This review is from December 26th 2020 at 4:30pm. The ice cream was great as always but the racism was even better this time. I went here with my 4 yr old. This is his first time here so he's taking a little longer to decide. The girl behind the counter had a look of disdain and there's no one else waiting in line. I asked if we could get a kids scoop of vanilla with some hot fudge and she told me they don't add toppings, either I should get a scoop of gelato or a sundae from their menu. I went ahead and got a couple of sundaes and sat down. After 5 mins another dad comes with a little one around 3 yrs maybe. The girls were so nice saying hey there cute little guy and offered him a sticker. Guess what they got kids scoop with some hot fudge. Guess what is the difference between us and them. Yep they were White. I have noticed this a couple of times before as well but just ignored it.
The girls kept talking loudly about what colleges they were applying for and the college tuition was $75k a year. But no amount of education can make you a better person if you can't even treat children of different skin...
Read moreI've visited Botolino Gelato Artigianale a few times, and it consistently impresses with its authentic and flavorful gelato. The selection of flavors is diverse and offers a delightful range from classic options like pistachio and stracciatella to more unique creations that you won't find elsewhere. Every scoop I've tried has been rich, creamy, and full of flavor--clearly made with high-quality ingredients.
The atmosphere inside is charming and inviting, with a cozy, modern interior that makes it a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your treat. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer samples and help you decide between their many tempting flavors. However, there are times when the shop can get quite busy, which means you might have to wait a bit longer to be served.
My only minor gripe is the price. While the gelato is undoubtedly delicious, it can be a little on the expensive side for the portion size. Still, for the quality of what you're getting, I believe it's worth the splurge every now and then.
Overall, Botolino Gelato Artigianale is a fantastic spot for a gelato fix. If you're in the area and craving something sweet, it's definitely worth a visit. 4...
