I book this hotel base in the location and review in booking. We have a family member at ICU at the parkland hospital, so this location was very convenient for us. Everyone in this hotel is nice and helpful except the manager, yes Rita the general manager. We book for 7 days, when we arrive we try to read every single post to not have to ask too much about housekeeping, check in/out, breakfast time etc. On the bathroom mirror is small sign saying, EVERY OTHER DAY THEY COME AND STRAIGHT OUT THE ROOM,TAKE TRASH OUT AND CHANGE TOWELS. My only request was have clean towels everyday, to don’t bother any one I walk to the housekeeping every morning with my dirty towels and exchange for a clean ones. Tuesday was the day the are supposed to straighten the room, we back from the hospital at midnight and we found a pile of trash and dirty towels because housekeeper don’t come to the room. Went to the front desk the guy apologize give clean towels and said he will leave a note for the morning. Wednesday morning I stop by again to the front desk to ask to clean the room and change sheets, because I don’t want to come back midnight and find a dirty room. I ask Rita if she speaks Spanish after see her Hispanic name and last name, she said no, and I think she get offended by the questions because she change her attitude immediately, then I proceed to speak English with her, she ask if the day before the sign was on the door, i told her I remove before we left and it was in the morning, she was nasty rude about my request and she get an attitude, I though may she have a bad morning I just brush off and let it pass.
I request something that I paid for, if I want a self serve stay I would pick a hostel and that is the reason why a hostel is more cheap, because u have to do ur own thigs.
Then the same day we come back around 2:45 to take a 1 hour nap before to comeback again to the hospital since we knew it will be a long night .surprise ! dirty room and no sheets on the bed, I called to the front desk the same lady answered with the same nasty attitude, she said Maam the day is not finish yet and I don’t know when they will come to clean your room, I did explain to her that we need to rest for a little before going to the hospital so she did send someone to clean, but the time that we had free was gone waiting to the room to be clean. It was a loss for us since we paid for that day but can’t rest, because the day before someone forgot to clean and it was late afternoon and the room still dirty!? what is the point to pay for a hotel if the manager will get upset when a costumer ask for something that is paid for? I don’t understand how a manager can be helpless and rude and don’t resolve an easy request, how she will approach a really difficult situation? I can imagine how she treat her work team if she acts how she acts with a paying costumer.
In response to Rita: No Rita I don’t come upset on Wednesday Ibwas there just to remind about the room and make sure it will be clean, I said good morning with a big smile but as soon as saw your nasty attitude toward me if course I will change my attitude toward you, how u expect someone be friendly with your attitude specially when I saw you name and title and your shirt, I ask my self how she can be this rude. And no maam you never apologized neither when I talk to u in front or when I call u have an attitude if u don’t like u can live. You should review your cameras and see how u act and don’t lied about...
Read moreHad to book a last minute stay because our flight got cancelled while traveling. When I called my first question was to confirm they had a shuttle. I was assured by customer service they had a shuttle that night for transportation to the hotel. We booked the hotel and then called back after sorting out the flight chaos to coordinate the shuttle pickup. We were told by the hotel staff there was no shuttle that night. They said it was posted on their website, which is not true, because it did not specify days shuttles were not running or we were lied to when we made the original reservation by customer service. We had already been through so much and with a toddler (no car seat) trying to figure out flights, luggage, missing work, hotel and being told now no shuttle and our reservation was nonrefundable. We had to rent a car and arrange a car seat to get to the hotel. I called after the stay and was given a case number and told by the supervisor the information he had, still showed there was a shuttle without saying there were non shuttle days.. so there system was incorrect.. They were supposed to contact me within a day or two. I received nothing. I called a couple weeks later and told there is nothing they will do to compensate or give a credit. Apparently they have now updated their shuttle hours for their customer service to see, so hopefully no one else experiences this… I would not have even booked this reservation if I had known there was no transportation. There should be some accountability for incorrect information that led us to needing to rent a car and incurring more expenses due to their errors. It’s sad to see they will not take any accountability for their errors and we are left with the extra charges due to incompetence. All I got from the results of the case were.. I’m sorry you should have talked to the hotel the night of the stay, which we did and they wouldn’t do anything either. I will stay clear of Hilton...
Read moreI recently stayed at Spark by Hilton, and while there were some positives, there were also several issues that impacted our overall experience.
First, the positives: The room was perfect for our needs in terms of cost—cheap, affordable and clean. The rooms are big!
However, there were several drawbacks. The walls are incredibly thin, and my room was located next to the elevator, making it impossible to avoid hearing any conversation from people passing by. Additionally, I could hear every movement from the room above me. If you have kids like me request a first floor because I was stressed about how hard or loud my kids steps were. The TV sound was also frustratingly low, even at the highest setting, which made watching anything difficult especially when the AC was blowing.
Also note, no microwaves in the rooms and you have to go to lobby to use one.
Upon arrival, we encountered issues with our room's cooling system. After three attempts to get the issue resolved, we were finally offered another room, which worked out fine. However, the next day, my mom and aunt checked in and were given the same room with the cooling problems. When they entered, the room was 84 degrees. Despite reporting the issue, and a staff member checking the thermostat (which still read 81 degrees), they were told it was fine. My mom, who hates to complain and didn't want to deal with the hassle late at night, decided to leave it alone, but the room never cooled below 77 degrees, leaving her disappointed.
Overall, while the price and cleanliness were good, the noise is level and unresolved cooling problems made our stay less than ideal. I hope the hotel can address these concerns to improve the experience for...
