I came here with a friend to eat and watch the soccer game on television featuring Dallas Trinity FC. We had the loaded nachos, and it is a big portion, enough for 2 people or for 2 meals. I would have the nachos again, or have a giant German Pretzel, loaded fries, or one of their specialty hamburgers. The bartender staff is awesome, friendly and lots of fun to talk with. Stephen, Abby, and Paige are part of this awesome staff of people. Great to share a good laugh or a funny old fashioned joke. Example: THE HORSE GOES INTO THE BAR, AND THE BAR TENDER LOOKS AT HIM AND SAYS, "WHY THE LONG FACE?" Hope to see them again on my next visit to Community Beer Company. Speaking of beer, and I really should be, this establishment brews various types of beer from scratch in house. I had the Stout, a dark color beer, I call it "black beer." It is the very best Stout beer I have ever had. I added a photo of the bar with the different varieties of in house brewed beer you can choose from listed on the wall. Included is a picture of the loaded cheese fries with a dollar bill so you can see that they do not mess around at giving you a big portion of fries. This is a great size to share with a few people. Check out the picture of the festive outdoor patio area. Also, I am proud to say that this establishment is dog friendly. I had a great time being around a few dogs. The dog owners have been very friendly, and kindly allowed me to pat them and take pictures. Notice the picture I included of a Great Dane's paw in my hand to show how big this dog is fully grown. Also is a picture of a Bassett Hound and...
Read moreIf you drink craft beer and are from Dallas, you've been to or drank Community beer. There is a reason it's so popular, from the friendly staff to the spacious taproom, to the celebratoty atmosphere, it's always a good time at Community. But community isn't just in their name, they are always having events that bring people together. Whether it's International Women's Day or partnering with the women's professional football club Trinity FC, they are always working to be an example of what authentic connection looks like.
"But is the beer good?" Yes. Yes, it is and there is a lot of options including non beer beverages . While the Mosaic IPA put them on the map, my favorites are the Texas Lager and Honey Citrus Blonde. They also have non alcoholic beers, THC infused beverages, and several kinds of spirits. The taproom has excellent food and good vegetarian and vegan options. And they sell beverages togo as well.
The only cons are parking, and that's more a comment on how terrible public transportation is in Dallas, and the noise level inside the taproom. The parking lot is big but it can be a bit of walk, if you have mobility issues come early for a close parking spot. There are multiple wheelchair ramps and entrances for those using those devices. There are a lot of hard surfaces in the taproom and no sound damping so bring earplugs if a high volume level is something that bothers you.
If you are a beer fan, you should absolutely stop by community and...
Read moreOur family of four (2 adults, 2 young children) were first time visitors to Community Beer Co tonight. The atmosphere was great. However, a small issue with our experience highlighted an area for improvement in customer service.
Our five-year-old daughter took one bite of her mac and cheese and didn't enjoy the strong flavor. I asked staff if we could return the dish to swap for something of comparable value. I was deferred to the manager, Francis (male with beard). Francis denied my request, stating there was nothing "wrong" with the dish so it would not “make sense” to change or comp the dish. He suggested we simply order something else for her, which was disappointing and surprising given our drinks and food investment already totaled over $120.
This felt like a missed opportunity for the management to prioritize customer satisfaction, especially for a low-cost item of $6. Francis’ lack of a more accommodating solution left us feeling hesitant to return with a duty to warn others about the rigidity of this business model. We had no issue originally spending money on food here, but had no desire to spend more after that. Especially since we paid in full prior to receiving the food, and left a generous tip prior to any service being rendered. In the end, my husband and I shared our meals with our daughter. The mac and cheese remained untouched and was left behind. More flexibility from management would...
