Donât sell your furniture here. Keep in mind you will need to pay to have the furniture delivered to the store. I had two practically brand new movie chairs (6 months old) that I purchased new for over $2000. They were all leather complete power in perfect condition and was initially told in an email after sharing photographs and all of the details about the items that they would sell between 800 and $1200. I thought that seemed fair and agreed to use their delivery service for $150. After about three weeks, I hadnât heard from them, so I had to call and follow up. After the chairs were delivered to their store, I was told, oh there are only two chairs (I never represented that there was a row of three, it was a row of two.) therefore we can only sell them for $600. I had to follow up with them over 2 1/2 months of silence to learn what happened with the sale of the chairs. I went in person and learned that they had sold several weeks earlier and no one informed me. At this point the woman informed me that I would get 50% of the sale which was $641 . Think about that for a moment. I will make just over $300 because we are going to split it 50-50 plus I paid for the move of $150 to get the chairs to them. That means I sold a pair of brand new gorgeous movie chairs for $150! Deeply dissatisfied. And by the way, they donât even bother to send out your check until 60 days have passed since the sale.
I feel I was patient in this process, but in thinking back, they advertise that for larger furniture items, they would come out to do an examination in person and let me know how much they thought they could get for it. That never even happened. I am deeply unimpressed by this consignment store. I have sold furniture items previously over the years with absolutely no complaints. if you donât want to get ripped off, donât leave...
Read moreI have dealt with Home Consignment Center as a seller and buyer for years with very few issues. I used to think they were a good company. This year, it is a different story, their service has gone down significantly! I left a lamp on consignment back in February, then came COVID shut down. I checked in once or twice starting in August, and was told the lamp hadn't been sold. Then I went in the shop in Sept to pick up the lamp and was told it was out on test drive. After that I checked in often to see if it was back in the shop, no it was always on a test drive. (I guess they are allowing month long test drives now?) Finally, on Oct 17, I was told it was sold and I would receive a check in 3-4 weeks. Today, Nov. 14 is 4 weeks, no check yet, and they are giving me a different story than last month. Now they said it didn't sell until Oct 19, two days after my Oct call when I was told it was sold. Kathy told me today that I would have a check in 3-4 weeks after Oct 19, which at the latest would be on Monday, Nov. 16. I asked what happens if I don't get it Monday and was given to a second person today, Na(sp?) Na told me it will be another week before I get a check. Every person there has a different story. I don't know what has happened here, but it is far too much work and frustration to deal with this company for a small value item. Different stories from each person, being told I would get a call back that doesn't come, and being hung up on more than once definitely doesn't make me feel like a valued customer. I'll think twice about ever going back. Selling on NextDoor is easier, more fun and I end up netting around the same amount of money.
It has been a week since the original review. I just called and Annie told me the check is in the mail. Crossing my fingers to...
Read moreProbably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Called about leather Couch and chair we wanted to sell and they told me to send pictures. So I sent pictures and a lady named Becky said bring it in, so we went and rented a truck went to the drop off zone and there was a short older woman with short grayish blond hair that we were finally able to track down. Asked her what the next step was and she sent us to the front to see Becky. We walked to the front, Becky greeted us (one of the two nice employees there), asked us to hold on she would be right with us. So we sat down on a couch waiting, and another tall thin lady with very short gray hair told us to go back to the receiving door and we would be helped there in an EXTREMELY rude manner. So we politely went back to the receiving door where the short blond lady precedes to yell at us because the other employee told us to come back and see her. She continues to be extremely rude to the point I walked away to go back up front to find another rep. At this point I am getting mad that I am getting yelled at but rude old women and tired of going back and forth to the front and back of the store at the bequest of rude people.
I think your older ladies need to get a new job, their rude, unprofessional, and have no manners. This is anything but a professional store. The furnishings are nice there from what I saw but the customer service is lacking. I won't ever sell or buy furnishing from a place that lacks in professionalism.
We decided to donate the two pieces to...
