Sunrise Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in San Ramon

I’m a first time and last time customer of Sunrise Bagel. I was in search of a good cup of coffee for the ride and was planning to hit the competition a few doors down until I saw the bagel sign. We’re fortunate that our bagel shops in the area all have pretty good coffee. So it seemed a no brainer. I purchased a cup of French roast and a raisin bagel. The bagel was fresh but not much better than our local supermarkets. What prompts me to write this review is the coffee. It was so watered down it tasted like they made a second or third pot on the same grounds. I had to dump the content. Perhaps this was a mistake and not representative of their every day offering. But as they say, “once burnt, twice shy” Most give them 5 stars so maybe i caught them...

I came in here to get some thing for breakfast, Something that I can take back to work with me and eat quick. So I walk in, order my food, and while I’m waiting, I see what I think is probably one of the owners, making some Vietnamese coffee that looked amazing, Asked her what it is and she told me offered to give me a sample so I could try it. And let me tell you that was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. She was a sweetheart, and most family-owned businesses Don’t let you try a sample of things before you buy it but she did. Amazing customer service and super sweet. She made my morning 100%. I will definitely be coming back. I wish I would’ve gotten her name and I’m assistant manager so I recognize good customer service I l give credit...

With neighboring cities of Walnut Creek and Danville offering a multitude of options San Ramon may not be the first destination people think of for great local restaurants, especially for breakfast. That’s where Sunrise Bagel Cafe rises to the occasion. With original NY style bagels boiled and baked in 36 options with a variety of shmears, the cafe lives up to its namesake. There seats inside, but the tables outside are nestled within a slightly hidden cornered off seating area around a small fountain presenting the perfect getaway for a weekend breakfast with company or a book.
