One of the employees of this establishment I'm assuming the manager, decided today would be the day he'd ruin for me. He also thought playing with my money made sense. I'm sure he wouldn't be happy if someone played with his job and money, matching his negative energy. I DoorDash sometimes. I'm a single mom of a 5 year old. I've done over 3.5k deliveries over the past 3 years. Rarely am I asked for my identification. I can count on one hand. Today I came into Petco with my ID. I've been in the Petco to pick up food plenty of times using that same ID and with no problems I was given the order. Thank God. Because at the end of the day it's not that serious.
I explained to the manager that for privacy reasons my name on DoorDash for the past 3 years has been an alias. However I showed him my ID and said that he could use my legal name or alias in order for me to pick up cat food. Mind you I have done over 3.5k deliveries for more expensive products including electronics and was never asked for ID. If anything the app asks for me to scan the barcode for that product. So when the manager of this establishment told me that the name on my ID had to match the name on the app from his device I was sure that if I also showed him my device that showed the order information directly from the app I was assigned the order under my alias and my email address (that included my legal name) he could be rest assured that I was in fact that I was in fact the correct person to give the order to. I hoped he'd be intelligent enough to realize that for starters I'm not about to steal cat food. And that if he was worried about me stealing cat food my legal name and physical address was right there on my ID for him. That way I'd be easy to track down and be punished for the crime of catnapping food. However he chose to make things more complicated than necessary. Asking dashers for ID at a pet store is incredibly stupid. Not just because it's pet food but because a "Dasher" stealing from the Petco would be the fault of DoorDash and the Dasher not the Petco regardless to whether they take ID or not. If stealing is that big of an issue that Dashers need to be carded for an order then maybe DoorDash isn't something Petco should be investing in. Taking my ID and making sure the name matches the Dasher name isn't going to stop people from stealing. Either way I showed proof of who I was by using the app and gave him my legal name. It's not corporate espionage. It's not grand theft auto. I'm not smuggling contraband. It's just cat food. I'm trying to make money to take care of my son. So I don't appreciate someone asinine making that difficult for me in this economy. Lift the requirement for Dashers to show their ID. Your establishment is 1 out of 200 establishments in San Ramon that asks for ID for something as invaluable as cat food. If it's that serious hire your own delivery drivers and stop using DoorDash.
I made sure to tell him he was being extremely asinine. It's cat food not a 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this Petco grooming location less than one star I would. I made appointments for two of my dogs. One at 11 am and one at 12:15pm the same day. They were to have baths, and nail trims. They told my husband they were running 15 minutes late and would call us to let us know when to bring our 12:15 dog in. We expressly told them that our dogs have never been in cages and the 11 am dog has anxiety but they assured my husband that they were taking her right away. At 12:30 p we had still not gotten a call to bring the 12:15 appt dog in, so we brought her in. They had not even started our dog with the 11 am appointment. They let her sit in a cage for two hours without touching her, and never called us to notify us of the delay or try to reschedule us. My husband called me to tell me this (I am recovering from surgery) and I told him to just bring both dogs home. I called the store but couldnāt get the manager on the phone, but left a message. Then I filed a complaint with the corporate office. The girl who was supposed to groom the dogs had told my husband she had finished the nail trims and then would bathe her, but when my husband got the manager involved she then said she was ājust finishing the nail trim.ā After she had said she would start grooming the dog right away, my husband watched her leave the store to go outside and smoke. We ended up leaving without getting either dog groomed. It is unacceptable that if they are running more than 15 minutes late, they donāt call to notify you. It is unacceptable that they leave an animal in a crate/cage for 2 hours without touching it. It is unacceptable that they are running that late without rescheduling. We were very clear that we didnāt want her crated/ caged for an extended period of time, and she assured us she wouldnāt be. Then she lied to us and did it anyway. She also lied about completing the nail trim. There clearly is a staffing problem if they are booking appointments online and running two hours late. And they are quoting 2-3 hours for a bath? They need to get new staff. Staff that actually cares about customer service, but more importantly that care about the care and comfort of the animals they are serving. It was a big deal for me to even give them a chance to groom my dogs because I normally do all of their grooming. And they failed miserably in every way possible. Hopefully other Petcoās in the area have their acts together because this location...

We had great: : experience the first time. The groomer patiently cut our yorkieās hair and groomed him nicely. We came back to a happy and great looking dog.
Second time was a nightmare. We got a different groomer , Kat for short. When we went to pickup our dog she casually mentioned our dog got a cut near the ear and there was blood and is doing ok now ! We were hearing dog cries from behind the door and we were scared as to what has happened. When they got the dog out he was all scared and there was blood on his ear ! On panicking and asking how something like that can even happen, some friendly person named Stuart came up with a first aid kit and applied a spray and calmed us down. The groomer never even apologized and she said it happens all the time and walked inside ! On top of that the groomer almost literally shaved our dog. Not a trim or haircut.
Not sure if the groomer is new or in a bad mood , but we are never taking our dog there after this experience.
Donāt trust theyāll take good care of your dogs while you...
