I like aspects of the store the aesthetic and generally the attitude of staff,
I found things are pretty expensive for example I asked the price on a buck knife the cashier said $79 which was a fair price tax included as you can buy the knife for $70 online inc tax + shipping I understand they have to markup so I was ok with that; But the register charged me closer to $95 so what was said wasn't honored and if they bought that knife at a domestic rate (hopefully they sought their stock in bulk) they just added 35%
I could pay that extra 35% more happily if it was backed up with product knowledge but I didn't feel well informed really.
You can get a Muela 92894 Fixed Blade Knife made with harder and more chemical resistant steel for $6 more at a domestic rate, You can get s30v / s35vn/ s45vn/ M390steels for some more than that, the luxury of choice would have been nice.
I've found a couple of higher dollar clothing items bought at leggett seem well made but I have had to repair them in under a year, this can't really be blamed on leggett but maybe they could reinforce my reason to give them a 35% tip on every item with some product knowledge...
Read moreI don’t know if It’s a Danville thing But I’ve been in this town for almost 2 years and I have never felt like I wasn’t able to shop in a store based on the color of my skin, Not only did not one worker greet me or my friend , they would rather look and stare rather than greet us. We were in there looking like anyone else and when it was finally time to check out , the cashier near the women’s section, I didn’t get a name because I was so uncomfortable by being in the store I was so focused on my friend buying her item so we can get out the store ASAP. As we were walking to the counter she started looking around like she was hoping that someone else or the lady that was standing next to her would volunteer to help us so she wouldn’t have to ring us up. Then when we finally got up to the counter she was really standoffish and quiet like she was scared to ring us up. It’s 2025 it should be no reason I feel odd to go in any store , when we all bleed the same. The store has a nice selection of things but the vibe I personally got from this store is just very...
Read moreI have made several trips over the years to Danville. When Leggett Town and County opened, I made it a regular visit. At first, they had merchandise from a variety of brands. Over the past few years, it has become more of a Carhartt store with smaller sections to some other brands. I personally am not a fan of Carhartt and feel the selection for my taste is limited. It does allow for a much quicker visit since the items that are of interest are in a smaller section of the store. If you like Carhartt, then you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for brands like Cinch, Panhandle Slim, or other Western brands, these are not available. They have a good selection of boots but seem to be more aligned with work boots. Danville needs a good source for Western Wear. To my knowledge, this niche is not served. They do have a ladies' department as well as animal supplies. My wife enjoys her visits to the ladies' department. This review is...
