This message is on behalf of my mother who was at the store today. “Lane Bryant I never thought that I would ever say this, but today was my ABSOLUTE WORSE experience at Lane Bryant, and I have been a valued customer for over 20+ years. After the Pompano Fashion Square store closed down, I would drive from Atlantic Blvd to The Town Center of Davie store to shop. The customer service and atmosphere was worth the drive. The employees were welcoming and helpful. They knew me by name. Unlike today, as soon as I walked in the door, I was followed around and watched by the sales associate Marina. She made me feel uncomfortable and discriminated against the entire time I was there! After being helped by another sale associate Angela, and stating I was ready to check out, Marina rudely interrupts to tell my associate I was not ready for check out. We both looked in astonishment, because the question not response was directed to her. She then began loitering around the register as I was being checked out. My sales associate stated that the necklaces that I just purchased may trigger the alarm, but she still attempted to demagnetize them. She explained that it didn't always work. After the sale was completed, my associate stated that she was going to the back for a minute. She passed me my bag and I proceeded to walk directly out the door from the register. Just as Angela had explained, the store alarm went off. I stopped to acknowledge that it did go off, when Marina snatched my bag out of my hand and took my necklaces out! Another customer was there and immediately stated that my sales associate said the alarm would go off and tried to assure her that I had just left the register. She still took each of my items out of my bag and refused to give them back! She stated that I needed to exit the door and she would pass me the items. The other customer went to the back door entrance to get assistance from the sales associate that had checked me out. Angela came and told Marina to give me back my things because I had just purchased them. She still stood there as if I had placed an unpaid item in my bag..I have never felt so disrespected and racially profiled in Lane Bryant as I did today by Marina! Being reprimanded for her actions is not enough! She needs disciplinary actions brought against her, especially since she is uneducated on racial profiling in a corporate setting! It is UNBELIEVABLE that Marina would be the representation of the Lane Bryant Company anywhere. Her personality and behavior was TOTALLY APPALLING, UNNECESSARY, AND UNACCEPTABLE!! Read moreThis store continually disappoints me. From their lack of selection to the lack of assistance I vow never to return to this location. The employees do not go above and beyond for their customers. I get better customer service online. I stopped actually shopping in this store months ago. I began to order online with shipping to the store to save money. This worked for a couple of months until when I went to return the items that didn't fit from my last order. Instead of returning them right there, the employee wanted me to send them back to the online warehouse. When I inquired why she couldn't simply return them like they had been in the past, she got into a discussion with me about her store numbers and how it would affect her store. I originally agreed to let her return them that way but without a way to get a receipt for shipping items back, I told her I didn't feel comfortable returning it that way. She was very cranky when she eventually processed my return in store. I will never step foot in this location again. My mother (who is an older woman) does not speak English well and wanted to give me some very nice clothes as a birthday present that she saw in this store and asked me my size, she thought that 14 would be the correct one. Unfortunately size 14 is large and did not fit. We arrived at the store where my mom bought the clothes, we explained to the lady what happened with the size error and they asked us to make a return at this store in Davie, when we arrived I explained to the store manager what happened, I told her that my mother hardly speaks English, she is visiting Miami and she wanted to give me a birthday present, I tried to explain the situation in detail and she told me that there was nothing to do, that she could not accept a return from the Pembroke Lake Mall Store Since that store was closing, we explained that we had been shipped here from that store.
