Daytona Turkey Rod Run is a swap meet where you think you can get things at a great price. Well think again! For a flea market style swap you have to pay a $20 entrance fee for 1 day. If you have a spouse and 2 kids that's $80 just to walk in. I understand companies have to make money to pay for staffing but $20 per person is an expensive amount for such an event. And you know the vendors are paying a pretty penny to be there. Secondly, many people travel far and wide to be at this event. Daytona Speedway has a massive open parking area. We use to be able to come in with our RV and park overnight. A rude security guy came over and told us in a very rude manner that we cannot stay on the field for free overnight ( mind you it just an open field were people just park. No vandalism and the fields are always left clean. Anyway, I digress.) the security guard said we can stay at the section where there are hookups (electric and water) for $350! What a rip off!!! We stay for 2 days and we dry camp. We do not need to hookup. Funny, in this economy you think that American companies such as the Daytona Speedway would not rip off the people that made them who they are but apparently they don't give two craps! People of America if you keep paying and support such businesses nothing will ever change. Daytona Turkey Rod Run you can keep your event...
Read moreBeen 5 times over the years. Great show on Friday and Saturday only. Be advised- NEVER pay for tickets on Sunday. Vendors are packing up and many are already gone- I missed seeing a national car AC vendor that packed up Saturday night. 30-50% of corral cars have left on Saturday night/Sunday early AM. Single resource for scooter rental charges for full day (outrageous pricing!) and demands the scooter back at 2 pm. This event needs another scooter rental vendor that can handle the Friday/Saturday demand AND LOWER their pricing. The entrance ticket counters only accept cash-no cards on Sunday. They force you to use their ATM machines for a charge. No advance notice of this requirement to ticket buyers. Sundays are a complete rip-off to the public. Event closes at 2 PM due to Christmas light events at dusk- $$$. During the Sunday event the Daytona Speedway Officials continuously broadcast announce "All vendors must be off property by Sunday evening due to incoming other events". Sunday event is NOT worth the time...
Read moreAs a show I read it 10 but if you have no way of getting around inside if you have no way of getting around and you're walking a rated a one or two to get in you have a mile-and-a-half walk and then it's another minimum 4 I did 5 miles to look at vendors and then another mile and a half to walk out so if you don't like walking to waste your time bring sunscreen and bottled water otherwise you're going to pay $10 for a hot dog and you there's no way you'll see it in one day if you want to cheat you can take the golf cart shuttles from one end of the infield to the other save time just make sure you get your hand stamped if they go out and go...
