Village Antiques — Attraction in Dearborn

We had purchased a headboard / bed frame from there. I was a little concerned because there were several headboards and rails all tossed together and while the lady was pretty sure she had all of the right stuff, I could tell she wasn’t 100% I had asked if we could return it if it didn’t work out and she said no problem

Once we got it home we realized what we thought was the footboard was actually an additional headboard (you can tell because the outside was unfinished), and we also have the wrong rails for the actual headboard we wanted ( the rails fit the other headboard)

We even asked her to double check if there was a matching footboard but she said there was nothing else

We informed them we would be returning the items and then were told they have a No Return policy, so now it looks like I am out $100. It’s unfortunate because I was going to purchase an antique dresser my wife liked when I returned it, but I just cannot do business with a dishonest vendor. It’s clear to me they would rather make a sale than have a satisfied customer.

Live and learn I guess, but that is the last $1 they will ever get from me and I would never recommend...

Went to Village today to get my wife a birthday present and she finds a wooden old hat stretcher that was marked $25 and said it was a plant stand. We go to the counter to purchase it and a guy asked my wife what that was. She begins to tell him about it and the owner overheard her. So when we get to the counter she says it’s marked wrong and the price is $48 . She said someone must have mismarked it. I was also buying a model boat with trailer and she said that the boat is one price and the trailer another.very shady place that’s really gone down hill, maybe that’s why most of the items have been for sale there for years. Better luck somewhere else that has integrity in their pricing. We walked out not buying anything and my wife was pretty upset on her birthday, thanks Village Antiques. Then she continued to call me a thief saying I switched the tags… stay far away from this place…well unless you like your integrity...

Village Antique is my favorite antique store around! Stop in for wonderfully interesting items, there is something for everyone. Items are truly “antique” yet they are quite reasonably priced.
