Overall good experience.
Liked, that they estimated when the battery would be available and provided a placeholder appointment for replacement work accordingly. Also liked that they gave me a call a few days before my appointment in case I want to come early for battery replacement as the battery got available earlier.
Did not like, that they provided no estimated time to me for the battery replacement during setting up the appointment. Also, they did not tell me how long it will take when I went for the appointment. Luckily I thought about that and asked myself before they start working on my phone, and they mentioned 2 hours. Had I been informed before, I would have come for my appointment with a plan to be okay to hand-over my phone for 2 hours, but because I wasn't informed, and because I had other places to be soon, I had to reschedule my appointment for another day when I can come prepared to leave my phone for 2 hours. It's not about time 2 or 4 hours but about providing relevant info to the customer so that they can come prepared. On top of that, the technician showed displeasure when I asked that given new info of repair duration that they just provided I need to come back another day prepared. They could have used that as an opportunity to learn that it would be helpful to them and customer both, if from then on they can start informing customer about tentative duration of repair during scheduling the appointment or before they start working on someone's phone, but instead that one specific technician made faces as if it was my mistake for not knowing how long it will take to replace the phone battery. I am not sure how would I know that it will take 2 hours unless they inform me. It's a small thing, but it made my experience not so good there, for something they didn't inform me before.
Other than that, I interacted different technicians there - the one who scheduled my appointment initially, and the one who actually received my phone on the actual day of the repair. They both were respectful and professional.
The store was clean, spacious, have main entrance at front from street side, and may have a back entrance (not sure), but there was plenty of parking at the back of the store and 15 min parking on the side...
Read moreI've had nothing but positive experiences at the Taylor and Southfield locations, but unfortunately this Dearborn one left a lot to be desired when trying to get my Google Pixel 8 screen repaired due to an intermittent flickering issue. Over the course of a month, and six separate interactions, they were so difficult to work with, that I ended up going to the Taylor location. By comparison, the Taylor team got my phone fixed in under 3 hours on the very first visit, all while being much friendlier, honest, and thorough in their communication!
Background: I brought my phone in for a screen repair and after checking the IMEI number and inspecting the phone they said it qualified under googles extended repair program for this issue, and that they'd call me when the parts came in, which could take up to 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I called them and learned they had the parts already but never contacted me.
I then brought my phone back in, but they changed the message, saying they couldn't verify the screen issue was covered, even though they had done so during my last visit, and that they didn't want to be liable for the cost if it didn't qualify. I had also brought a video of the flickering happening just in case, but they said that it didn't matter, and that I needed to reach out to Google directly and get them to provide a written statement that my phone issue qualified, even if the intermittent issue was to be happening during my visit. After these 2 in person visits, I then spent an hour in contact with Google who reviewed my video, confirmed this was the exact issue their extended warranty covered for the screen, and letting ubreakifix know to contact them if needed.
I provided all this info to the Dearborn location thru email as they requested I do, and I heard nothing back. I followed up via email and still no response. I then followed up via phone and they said they would go read the email right away and get back to me. I then called them the next day and they said they didn't get to it yet and hung up with no other information given. That's when I gave up on this location, and, I've still never heard...
Read moreSo I am giving it 2 stars because the guy wasn't rude, in fact he was very nice but not helpful at all. When I came in here yesterday, I was trying to get my father's phone fixed. It was a Note9 with a minor cracked screen on the side. And right when I handed it to him, he responded with. "They don't make this screen for these to replace them anymore, we can't even replace this and wherever you go they're not going to be able to replace this, I'm sorry I can't help you." I believed him and was bummed out. An hour or so later I called another phone repair place just because my gut told me to and it was the Canton phonw repair location in Canton, Michigan a long while away from the Dearborn location of ubreakifix where I took the Note9 where I was told I can't get it fixed and they told me they absolutely could fix it and it took them an hour and 15 minutes. When I came to get it they finished it and it looked like a brand new phone. I explained to the guy at the phone shop in canton when I picked up the phone about what I experienced at ubreakifix and he explained to me that that guy was completely wrong and you can get the screen replacements for the note 9 and he had no idea why that guy would tell me that other than the fact he might be new and inexperienced and doesn't know how to do it. So I wish if that was the case the guy could've just said come back when so and so is here instead of saying you just cant do it for an untrue reason but other than that I don't know why he told me this. And they're also a Samsung flagship location which is a little bit concerning that they're telling their customers that they can't even fix it and saying something that is not true, like they don't carry the part or screen to fix the note nines anymore and wherever you go, you can't get it fixed when I clearly got it fixed in canton at the phone repair shop on Canton...
