Saturday morning, I got up early and headed to Atlantic Dunes Park. I arrived early enough that the regular parking lot was still locked, which was a serious bummer. I get that someone needs to be here to open it but this was a disappointment.

Once I did find a spot to park, it was a nice walk through the mangroves and along the boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. I found a seat, probably trespassing from one of the communities but the chair was comfy. With my coffee in hand, I was here for over an hour as the Sun slowly came over the horizon.

I was undisturbed. Other beachgoers walking back and forth but folks seemed to get my vibe and did not approach. There is a beached sailboat here since December. Maybe it's still here when you visit. It made for some fun photos.

We went on 7/8/22 early morning at 9am. We were vacationing from KS and our host recommended this particular beach. The sea breeze was great. This seemed to be a great beach at some point, sad to see folks have littered the beach. There were sharp objects in the sand cigarette butts, plastic bottles and bottle caps, we had to watch where we treaded. On our way out, I picked up old googles, red bottle, plastic sandal hooks that hang them at the stores and rusty metal objects and threw them in the city trashcan at the entrance. The parking across the street is small for all the beach goers. To us it was ok. Fyi there was a lot of sea weeds which rubbed on your skin and made it difficult to swim, and most of it pilled up in the beach sand. We did see a tractor cleaning this up. I'd recommend the area for vacationers, beach was ok. The city should post no littering or smoking signs and fines...

It features soft sand dunes, lush vegetation, and a wooden boardwalk that provides easy access to the beach. The park is equipped with amenities such as restrooms, showers, and picnic areas, making it a convenient spot for families and visitors looking to enjoy a day by the ocean. Additionally, it's staffed with lifeguards, ensuring a safe environment for swimming and other beach activities. The natural habitat around the park also offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, making it a favored destination for nature...
