Worst experience of service in Delray from this brand we love in original location in New Haven and Boston. 1/2 the pizza ordered, arrived late, manager focused on policy, never apologized. Details below.
Ordered my first two pizzas delivered from their webpage today. Text says they were arriving yet I found the delivery person at the wrong building with just one pizza and no ability to speak English - simply repeating “call store” when I ask where the second specialty pizza is.
So…I called the store to wait 10 minutes for the manager to tell me it wasn’t their problem and if I wanted the missing pie they would make another and I would have to pay again. After I paid $62 including delivery and a 20% tip to the driver - through Frank Pepe’s webpage - Frank Pepe who should make this right. The Manager had no customer service experience and continued to explain policy to me several times. She offered after some time to contract with UberEats but explained she had no responsibility to me. After much debate about the fact that I had people I needed to feed dinner tonight, she said would ask uber eats to give me a credit for the one pie. Still not addressing the fact that the food was not available to eat. She insisted I pay for another pie if I wanted the food. I hung up saying I no longer wanted their food.
Simple solution, I will never buy from them again and I will make sure others are informed. As I was writing this review the manager called back an hour and 45 minutes after our pies were due to say she wanted to give me a credit for our next order and that she found when contacting Uber that our second pie was delivered to the wrong place. I had her give the credit I my husband as I don’t want to deal with this manager ever again.
I highly recommend a better business with highly rated exceptional pizza just a few miles away. I’ve had their pies delivered on time without issue many times and when once they delivered the wrong pie they corrected within 20 minutes.

Read moreWe had lunch at Pepe's on Dec 29th. It was my second time at this location which opened this past summer.
Our server was Jamie P. who was friendly and attentive.
I was hoping it would be as good as my prior visit. I noticed comments about the locations outside of Wooster being a let down. My 1st experience at this location was outstanding and my lunch today was terrific.
We ordered 3 small pizzas:
Original Tomatoes Pie - Crushed Italian Tomatoes, Grated Pecorino Romano & Olive Oil
Amanti Della Carne - Crushed Italian Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Meatball, Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon & Grated Pecorino Romano
Margherita - Crushed Italian Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella, Fresh Basil, Grated Pecorino Romano & Olive Oil
The pizzas were very thin, crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. The long fermentation ensures the dough had a complex and delicious flavor. The sauce was not overly sweet nor acidic. The natural sweetness of the uncooked tomatoes shined and were top quality.
All of our pizzas were delicious, but the star was the original tomato pie. The spartan ingredients really allows you to savor the dough and sauce. The sprinkled pecorino adds a bit of umami to tie it all together. This pizza wouldn't work unless the dough and sauce were perfect; luckily they were.
The toppings on the Amanti Della Carne were outstanding. The bacon was thick and fatty, light, and melted in your mouth. It was like the most incredible pork belly on a pizza. The sausage was terrific.
I wish we with a larger party to order the clam, white shrimp, and other varieties.
My pizza today was AS GOOD if not better than my experience at Sally's on Wooster Street last April. That's a huge compliment.
This is to the contrarians who like to say only the original Wooster location is good.

Read moreI was contemplating between four stars and five stars and went for the five stars because of the pizza! I loved the pizza! It was the perfect texture for me, thin and soft yet crunchy at the same time and full of flavor! I also had the antipasti which was ok and also could work a little bit on the presentation! The breadsticks were covering everything up. I rearranged them a little bit for my second photo to make it look more interesting. I also had the Italian wine, which was good. I’m not sure that I loved having it in such a small glass totally full so it’s spilled. When I came in, I was a little concerned because I was waiting to be seated for quite some time and then I was waiting on a server to take my order but then the drinks came out very quickly and shortly after the antipasti plate and then shortly after the pizza! So all in all together, I had all my food and drinks in less than 15 minutes of arriving. The ambience is canteen/bistro like. The sound bounces around because there is no fabric involved in the interior design so it can get loud but that’s what you would expect in a canteen, simple and basic. It’s definitely not romantic nor cozy. And it is a family friendly restaurant where families come with kids and/or in groups. this place has a pretty good happy hour and also some specials to consider. It has been open for over a year and this was my first time, I will be back...
