UPDATE: Downgrading review. How many years of complaints are you going to receive before putting something as simple as a 2nd bench press & squat rack in your crappy gym?? These are staple exercises but one of each is short-sighted. It's absolutely ridiculous to watch people line up to wait for these with so much space being taken up by unused machines in the middle of the floor but at least we have somewhere to sit while we wait forever to bench or squat. Waited half an hour for the bench press at 10am on a Wednesday because a single dude was doing his whole CrossFit routine using the bench & bar. Wasn't even doing bench presses. You would think employees would see this & do something but nope, the very few so-called "trainers" that are up there are like the guy in the pics here, training n00bs the incorrect, very dangerous for your spine way while posing with their Redbull & leaning against the very weight the client is trying to lift. They also walk right past dudes standing on balls doing heavy barbell curls & women doing pushups on upright dumbells. Not using the bar horizontally for stability, but standing the dumbells ON THEIR ENDS! Faceplant anyone?? Real classy, 24hr "Fitness". And others mentioned "nicest equipment" & "cleanest locker rooms & facilities in Denver" which has to be a joke (or an employee review). As of June 2016 they are & have been disgusting for as long as I've been a member. I've contacted management a number of times over the years but nothing has changed here since 2008. Luckily I'm a fully paid lifetime member & can go to the other ones. Avoid this one like the plague because that's most likely what you'll catch if you go there.
ORIGINAL REVIEW - 2009 Nice & clean but tiny. Plenty of good treadmills & ellipticals downstairs to watch your morning shows & daytime soaps on but the "weight" room upstairs is lacking tons. Pretty much only 1 of everything bench & machine wise which results in pretty lengthy wait times just to get a set in. With no room for expansion or adding as little as one more dumbbell, if you're on a specific routine this gym ain't...
Read moreI’m actually surprised I was able to tolerate this gym for 2 years. It is so tiny that the only time it’s not crowded is right when it opens. The equipment they have is also extremely limited, so this is not a good gym if you have specific workouts planned like myself. Their equipment will also break down fairly regularly and they take weeks to months to fix them. For example, they have three cable machines, two of which were down for about 2-3 months until recently. The water fountains in the pictures were broken for about 1-2 months. Their idea of a solution is to throw some buckets under the leaks until they spill over, then replace them with some new buckets instead of actually fixing them. For what I was paying and how many people go there, I find it hard to believe they can’t hire someone to fix something like that relatively fast. There are a couple early morning staff members that I liked, but a good amount of them will sit around and blast their own music or workout while they’re on the clock instead of maintaining the gym. I usually didn’t go at nights, but the one of the last times I did, the closing staff member asked the remaining guests to leave 30 minutes before they actually closed so they can “prep for closing”. I will gladly add an extra 10 minutes to my drive to go to their competitor that is twice the size and has more amenities for 1/3...
Read moreNot only did 24 hour fitness deny me a membership cancellation the moment I requested it weeks ago, they just charged my account 2 months worth of fees. Their policy is that you have to pay $10 a month for not using their gyms if you leave the country. Even after I sent a written notice in the form of an email to their GM and had my brother go in person to confirm the cancel, they still charged me. I call corporate and this guy tries to freaking sell me on their membership. He denies me to speak to someone else and forces the next guy I call to hang up. To this day, I have spent well over $300 on this membership that included the start up fee, the annual fee, and the last month’s fee. They drained me of my money and do not give me the right to keep my membership even after I paid all of those fees. I literally just wanted to keep my membership once I returned to the states! In reality, you would have to cancel and pay the fees all over again if you wanted to stay a member in the long run. What does all of this mean? 24 Hour Fitness have policies that are against its members. Not only is it unfair, but it is completely illegal in how they handled my situation. No worries though. I will get my money back even though the guy laughed at me on the phone...
