Hungarian Freedom Park — Attraction in Denver

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. I'm guessing you're a Denverite that's scoping out this park to see if you want to hang out in it, possibly with your dog or kid, maybe a picnic. I recommend it, but even more so I recommend you learn the story behind it. My father emigrated here from Hungary, he risked his life to flee the Soviet occupation, so I'm somewhat bias. But I really think your average American should know this story now more than ever....

This is a great little park near Cherry Creek. I haven't had the opportunity to take my little poodle here yet, but I imagine he would absolutely love it. It's relatively well kept. It's surprisingly easy to park here despite being so close to Speer. The fountain and the memory of the Hungarian uprising (1956) make it nice little gem in a busy part of Denver. This is the best park in all of Denver. They got trees. They got a couple benches where you can just zone out and look at traffic.
