I'm so excited that this cafe is in the neighborhood! It is a beautiful, open space with lots of natural light. It has a peaceful vibe that makes for the perfect place to work, read, or catch up with a friend.
I'm a little obsessed with their lattes. In fact I have been four days in a row since discovering this place to get one! The espresso is perfectly done. Homeira, the owner, is so welcoming and friendly. She makes a delicious swirl cake, as well as fresh scones and almond cake daily. Chris is the other person who I always see there and she is awesome! She is a great barista and is so friendly as well. I cannot say enough about the positive vibes and how much I enjoy going here. I have never had a neighborhood spot that I go to every day, but Rosebud Cafe has changed that.
There is a really cool loose leaf tea selection, most of which Homeira brought from Iran. You can get a cup or a pot and make your own combo or choose one of her creations. The way they make the tea is really unique. I don't know the name of the apparatus they use but it is beautiful and uses steam to heat the tea pot.
I plan to try every food item on the menu (there aren't a lot but they all look amazing). The first lunch item I tried was the hot turkey sandwich. It comes with turkey, fresh pesto, red onion, tomato, and provolone on a unique flat bread. Delish! I can't wait to try...
Read moreAs a coffee/ breakfast place you have to brew coffee well. Pablo coffee is great but if it’s bitter then it’s the way it’s being brewed is the problem. I wonder if they taste it 🤷♀️
I live like barely a block a way. I used to get lattes and there was no consistency in the way each barista pumped the flavors. Pretty heavy on milk but the flavor was nice. Problem was not consistent. So sometimes great and sometimes it wasn’t. A few times they forgot my flavor but so busy I didn’t want to bother them. Happened at least three times. Then the last time I went I got iced chai latte and it was basically the color of milk I hardly tasted chai. So I stopped going, for like a year. I’ve gone many more blocks to other places.
Then today I thought, how about just plain black coffee. And no, it’s way to bitter at first sip even.
It’s shocking how much business they get. I’ve never had food, seems to take a long time but maybe it’s really good 🤷♀️
Owner is nice, present, baristas are friendly enough, atmosphere feels fresh and modern… just wish the product was...
Read moreThe person working behind the counter was very nice, and the place is cute. The coffee and food were both really bad. I had a latte + rose syrup and the espresso was thin and tasteless and it tasted like they were reusing the same shot of espresso grounds more than once. I could barely taste the rose and there was no sweetness to it. Just not good at all. They were out of the chagacino I ordered for my son so the lady kindly said she’d make him a hot chocolate which ended up watery and tasteless and he didn’t drink it. The toasted turkey sandwich ($12.50) was not good, and the bagel with pesto ($9.50) tasted stale and had just a thin layer of pesto with about 2 tiny pieces of tomato and cucumber. Definitely not anything we would order again. Also we waited over 10 minutes for the drinks- our food came out several minutes before the drinks, which is annoying but one of those things that wouldn’t be a big deal if the...
