I called yesterday because I really wanted to have lunch with my friend here. I always call and make sure places are cool with my ADA service dog. There’s a lot of places, like The Spot, that are misinformed about the law and will discriminate against you. I sent a Facebook message first (see attachments) and I was getting ready to leave so I called. Upon calling, they told me I must have my license that shows my dog is ADA as well as proof of training because they have been getting a lot of people passing their dogs off as service dogs. There is no such license or requirement of training since each dog is trained differently. You cannot ask for any proof. The only two questions an establishment can ask is 1) is it a service dog and 2) what is the task it’s trained to perform. You cannot be denied service for having a service dog as that’s discrimination. The owner walks back his claim of asking me for proof of my service dog license and says as long as it’s licensed I won’t ask for proof. NO SUCH LICENSE EXISTS. The owner was very rude and blocked me on Facebook before I could answer his questions. What are my intentions? To have lunch. What do you really think I’m trying to do? I just wanted to try your philly cheesesteak and not have a seizure on your floor. What are my intentions now? To bring awareness to the fact you discriminated against a medically disabled person. I will not be coming by because I truly believe I will be denied service on the sheer fact that I have an ADA dog. I have seen other reviews on Yelp, Facebook, and Google that state the same thing. The reason people with service dogs call is to avoid situations like this. If I have an hour for lunch, I don’t want to be discriminated against and not be able to eat in peace. If you are an ADA individual, or an ADA ally, I highly suggest you find somewhere else nearby. Cochinos and Fat Sully’s are both close who have amazing food and love ADA service dogs. I will accept an apology and take edit my review to reflect the owner is not a discriminatory douchebag, if they choose to apologize. If not, I do plan to make this discrimination a well known part of Denver.

Comfortable sports bar for everyone. Feels relaxed and friendly. Full bar and great chefs in the back making American classics. They have outdoor seating, patio seating, and a great indoor space with neighborhood charm in an original Denver building.

The Spot is amazing! Full of friendly locals, totally chill atmosphere, and great music. The bartender who served me, Christian, could not have been more welcoming and kind. Delish pinot grigio, as well. Best pub in the area!

Food decent atmosphere is decent. But service quality is greatly lacking. At least for me when I go there with friends. Been over a handful of times as I live close and my girl enjoys it. I’m not saying any one is actually racist but I do feel a shift of energy when it comes to my service.

Being left without a waiter for over 20 min to take my order while I watch them repeatedly check on other guests as we sit there looking at them to try to let them know we’ve been ready for 20 min.

Constantly asked for my id when I’ve already showed the person taking my order. Why would you ask if you’re not my waiter and I already showed my waiter.

Ordering online just to show up at the pic up time and they haven’t even started yet so have to wait another 20-30 min for our food.

Greatly understaffed

And just overall feel a little singled out as the only person of color in there usually when I’m there and notice everyone having a good time but then when they come to my table the energy shifts a lil. I try to be kind and pull it back but i just at this point don’t feel welcomed as there’s always something when I go. Again not sayin anyone is racist or discriminatory! I’m just saying I personally don’t feel welcomed.

Decent place tho if you don’t mind the service. Not saying don’t check it out it might be nice for you. But for me I dread it. And will never be back or support this...

Gf and I ordered takeout since we live around the corner, and had never tried this place. She ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a patty melt. I injured my knee a few days ago so she went to go pick up our order at the time given.

When Rachael picked up the order, they said they were having problems with their kitchen printer. She had to wait an extra 15 min and when they gave her the order, it only included the Patty Melt, no Cheeseburger. The reason given was the kitchen printer only printed out half the order. They offered to refund half the order since it wasn’t made, but said it would be another 20 min for the burger to be made, in which time the other half order that was made would be cold. So my gf left in defeat.

Having been an F&B manager, there are two correct options in this scenario that were not even offered. If you care about getting it right, you’d take the food back and re-Fire the ticket, putting it ahead of all others being worked on. Typically this is referred to as ā€œon-the-flyā€ and it’s pretty common to have a couple of these on a shift because hey, mistakes happen.

If you’re super busy and this isn’t an option, just offer a refund for the whole order. It sucks when somebody doesn’t get the food they asked for, and that’s a...
