came here with a friend for restaurant week and it was fine! drinks were overpriced, $15 cocktails that were mostly ice. not sure why they don’t chill their glasses if a cocktail is $15. Got a decent pour of Prosecco but that was $13 for Costco Prosecco. I lived across the street from Mr Oso and it’s been successful so I thought it would have been good. we did restaurant week, me and friend and it was still over $150. Empanadas and the birria were fine. The ice cream was laughable, it was the same portion of food you give a one week old baby. All the food is forgettable. On the plus side it was clean! there is a hidden tip in the bill already so don’t tip. make sure you read your receipt. For that much money, we better be eating at one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Oh wait… we’re in the Speer neighborhood of Denver with the closest landmark being a high school and a cheap liquor store. Not quite NYC but NYC prices for sure. Service was good and the place is cute, this is a good place if you want an Instagram with a friend. Tourist spot for sure, find a taqueria if you want real food.

My recent dining experience at Mister Oso Wash Park in Denver was an absolute delight, offering a unique and innovative culinary journey that blended Latin American flavors with modern techniques, resulting in a dining experience that was both adventurous and comforting. Upon entering Mister Oso Wash Park, the trendy and chic ambiance immediately caught my attention. The restaurant's sleek decor, with its contemporary furnishings and stylish artwork, created an inviting and upscale atmosphere, perfect for a memorable and special evening. The menu at Mister Oso showcased a fusion of Latin American-inspired dishes, creatively crafted by talented chefs who have a passion for culinary innovation. After much contemplation, I decided to try their "Ceviche Mixto," their "Short Rib Ropa Vieja," and their "Dulce de Leche Panna Cotta" for dessert.

Absolutely fantastic food, and they were more than accommodating for us looking for patio seating for covid safety. The servers seem to enjoy working here, and the whole place is spotlessly clean even during the dinner hour. The tacos are served with tortillas on the side for you to build yourself; each $15 plate is good for 3-4 tacos, so super reasonable pricing. Where they really shine is the meat - we ordered the barbacoa and carnitas to mix and match, and the amount of flavor they packed into the meat was unbelievable. The only reason I resisted licking the plate was how nice a place it is, but I definitely got more tortillas to clean the plate with. Come, enjoy yourself. It's worth it. Just give a little bit more time to find parking, since the lot they have fills up quick and you might have to circle a bit to find street parking.

Considering the prices... one would expect to be blown away by the food, service and the entire experience. However, tonight I was anything but impressed. A buddy and I stopped in tonight for 1 well drink and 1 Pacifico beer along with some chips, guac and salsa. There was no dinner entree involved in this... but that total bill still came out to $58 and change. Mind you all their tabs come with 20% required gratuity built in (whether the service was good or not. Service was not good). Last week my daughter, stepson and I went to Mister Oso's and just had 6 tacos and chips and salsa and NO alcohol... and that whole experience (including the required built in 20% tip) set me back $98 and change. I would characterize the food as good, interesting and eclectic... but at the end of the day... still nothing special... especially considering what they charge for it. I used to go to Mister Oso's more frequently over a year ago when they used to have a manager who provided an amazing customer service experience every time that we were there. However, that person is no longer there... which only makes their glaringly expensive prices and lack of value and service stand out (in a bad way) even more. Definitely a disappointment for me to write this updated review because it had the potential to be such a great neighborhood hangout. But, unfortunately, it...

The food was decent but expensive. They were busy and the server did her best but all I did was ask if I could use Apple Pay and that turned into me paying for the whole bill and not realizing that I paid almost $200 until after it already processed because I was never told the total or shown anything until the end. Then I obviously had to pay my og bill which was another $50 for beans, a small coffee w a pinch of horchata and two of the smallest tacos in existence… I’m pretty frustrated because the charge was large, is still pending and I’m going to be waiting days for this money to hit my account when times are tight in the first place. When I realized that the voided charge was not back on my account I went back to ask the manager when the funds would be returned, I felt brushed off like it wasn’t a big deal but I literally have no money in my account now because of this and that’s a big deal to me. Beforehand when the server was explaining it to me, she also made it seem like it was no big deal imo, just to placate me and get me out without a complaint, but when dealing with amounts that large and an entire table I think the total should be confirmed. I hope this charge goes back on my account soon or I will be overdrawn from bills coming out, just to illustrate the severity...

We've eaten here a few times, food is always flawless. Apps, dips, tacos, and churros are all cooked right and are full of flavor. Four of us shared half the app list and each ordered different tacos. We each thought ours was the best thing on the menu.

Their service has always been outshined by their food, but has never taken away from the experience. I'm totally fine with that. But the service we recieved tonight earned a top 5 spot on my most comically bad service list. At one point my 15 year old asked if we were on a hidden camera show. We had to ask for every core duty of a server; I mean the basics. Our silverware (after being served), first drink order, water refills, to get the check, to pay our check. We gave up on ordering a second round of cocktails.

I'm a realist. Some times you get poor service. But the kicker was that when she came by with the final copy, she informed me that the service charge was already applied at 20%. This was the first time I've seen that for a party of four. 20% is my baseline for tips. 25% most of the time, and I've doubled that when the service was exceptional. I've only tipped under 20% three times in my life. Tonight was going to be the 4th. But she...
