Great selection of all kinds of food. The vegetable selection was excellent and everything looked fresh. There is a large selection of chili peppers and dried chilis, as well as many other vegetables, herbs, and ingredients found in hispanic foods. The meat department has a lot of variety as well, including actual skirt steak, odd cuts of meat, and a solid selection of fats and innards. The fish selection was meh, but the rest was great. The grocery section has a large variety of Mexican foods, but the candy isle really stands out. Lots to choose from, usually with multiple brands per item. Very friendly staff (my wife and I are not hispanic and we felt very welcome from all the staff), easy self-checkout, and everyone was wearing masks. Great place to go for specialty foods that just aren't available at King Soopers or Whole Foods.

I went to the store yesterday to get a kg choco crispies and I noticed on my recibo 🧾 that the 23.3oz (1lb 7.3 oz) is $8.19 and that is way TOOOOO MUCH for that box when at Wal-mart it’s only $4.48 because i went to check the prize and I went back to the Lowes mercado to tell the cashier and they were kind of rude and were like ā€œYEA THATS THE PRICEā€! I left you a picture I took at Walmart and how much it is

I had a nice visit to this grocery store this morning. I was in search of Chayote which most grocery stores don’t carry and this Mercado does. It was clean and quiet on a Sunday at 10 and I was able to find everything I needed and more. They do not have hand baskets however, so you need to get a cart which is a little cumbersome if you are only picking up a handful of items.

It was around in 2003-04 when it was Avanza. Nash Finch was expected to net 42 million and didn't even come close 16 million. 2004 announced 15 Buy N Save and Avanza's were closing. Of course the store I was working was one of them. Busy as hell I can't see why, and to top it off I had gone to Avanza along with other EX-Super K-mart employees after that business closed it's doors. 2 GREAT businesses that closed it's doors in Denver those few years in a row. so in 2004 after I left Avanza it was renamed to Lowes Mercado. So "Bud" Lowe from Texas bought them up. I loved working there, shopping there, the people there. Even though the majority of my customers spoke Spanish and I didn't, I still new what was up even as a cashier, produce and stocking the shelves kinda white gal. The produce and fresh meat market are out of this world best priced ever. I made the best, tastiest pepper salad from that produce dept. The different kinds of peppers and lettuces just made it taste so good. I haven't made any pepper salads since 2004. I'm all the way out in Arapaho County these days and have yet to go check out the Lowe Mercado there at 1320 S Federal Blvd. I did call the Lowe Mercado on Federal this morning to see if Avanza just so happened to make it and that's when Jesus answered and confirmed to me that the name changed but the GOOD PRODUCE is still there. I asked to speak to the store manger but SHE wasn't in. He wouldn't tell me her name but he did say SHE so I know it's a lady manager. Not the HE manager from when I was there. Anyhow, I'm taking a drive from the East side of Colorado to the West side of Colorado tonight after work to buy me those same ingredients for my pepper salad from this Lowes Mercado market that is still suspose to run like Avanza's did, and make my grand kids that pepper salad and see if I can get the same response from them as I did from my friends and family I was around in 2003-04. New generation of peoples now. I just hope the produce is the same as it was back then.....No other grocery store in this state has a different variety as AVANZA did. Basic is all you can get from these grocery stores around here. I personally don't think Colorado grocery stores are worth shopping at.... unless your out for bacon, eggs, bread and cereal. BELL PEPPER and maybe a habanero pepper if your lucky. THE BASIC.... So after my visit tonight I hope to keep my 5 star review and an even better review for Lowe Mercado to continue....(to be cont'd) by...

Need to rectify the most recent issue. Store is still amazing and well stocked.

Somewhere along the line a policy has changed. Today April 13, 2024 I was approached by a female security guard that was dressed to replicate an officer. She was nice at first but being approached took me by surprise. She stated she needed to take my ā€œbackpackā€ to the front of the store. I told her that it is my purse. It is literally sold as a purse. She stated ā€œit has straps, it’s a backpack, next time don’t bring it back in hereā€ so now I’m being told a purse that I carry on my back sold and identifies as a purse, as an adult, on a Saturday, I am being controlled by a store and told that I can not carry my PURSE into the store, yet my purse carries my wallet where my money is stored. Also, asking me to leave my purse at the front of the store unsupervised, is the store and security stating they are taking FULL RESPONSIBILITY for ALL contents of my PURSE including any monies or credit or bank cards and any charges that occur as a result of my PURSE being held hostage at the front of the store is the direct responsibility of the security and the store OWNERS! My statement stands!

I have taken this same PURSE and others like it for the last three years with no issues.

Is this a policy that is meant for students or homeless individuals or people that steal? It is very frustrating to be approached while shopping in a store, any store, especially one I like to visit often!!!

Today felt like I was being profiled, my grandsons also felt very uncomfortable being watched as we went thru the store.

Always stocked! The breads are amazing! The meats are amazing! Picked up taco package and absolutely loved it! The best produce is right here! Our next stop is the cookie isle, the kids love that the shelves are also stocked and they always have so many choices!

This is a very organized store and very clean! The ladies always help at check out without me needing to ask! This is another favorite store of mine! Also a nearby...

My daughter & I were walking around this store looking at the cakes & grabbed a few extra things. No sooner then we went up to pay a security guard went & stood right by the self checkout we were at. He stood there & watched me scan & pay for everything. I even paid cash for 2 items that I didnt bag & just had sitting on the scale, so he could clearly see that both items were scanned & paid for but even tho he watched me scan & put the cash in for them, No sooner then we went to leave he stepped out in front of me & asked me for something in spanish. I told him what? And he said check your card or cart? Mind you there were only enough items in my cart to fill the little seat on the top. He snatches my receipt & says "Sorry, no good English" mea. While I watched like 4 other people leave from the same self checkout area & he didnt stop any of them. I AM HISPANIC BUT DON'T SPEAK SPANISH. I DEFINITELY FELT SINGLED OUT & DIDN'T APPRECIATE HOW MY DAUGHTER & I WERE TREATED. IT WAS SOKE STRIGHT BS & WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION EVER. NOT TO MENTION THERE WAS AN ELDER CAUCASIAN LADY WHO I STEPPED BACK INTO WHEN THE GUY STEPPED INFRONT ON ME. AND SHE SAID CLEAR AS DAY "OH, IM SORRY I DIDN'T NOTICE YOU INFRONT OF ME" so why didn't he stop her b4 he stopped us. Then dude acted like je didn't speak English when I asked him "Why do you need to see my receipt when you watched me scan & pay 4 EVERYTHING?" SO I SNATCHED MY RECEIPT FROM HIM & LEFT.

NOT SURE IF IT WAS A REAL COP BECAUSE HE DID HAVE A LITTLE BADGE ON HIS BELT LOOP. BUT EITHER WAY I FELT LIKE WE WERE SINGLED OUT OR THAT WE DIDN'T BELONG IN THAT STORE.

FIND A DIFFERENT LOCATION IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE...
