Surprisingly disappointing. Took the whole family there, thinking that Aviano Café was a replica in taste and quality of the coffee shops in the Italian town Aviano, located in Northern Italy, which I lived near for many years. Expecting a wonderful experience, we ordered and took our seats inside the café. Though almost everyone had their drinks served in disposable containers, we asked that ours be served in normal porcelain cups and glass for the cold drinks, knowing that disposable containers give drinks a different taste. My wife and I both had cappuccino, and though the barista did a wonderful job with the froth design, the unusual small porcelain cup was somewhat a surprise. But after tasting the beautifully prepared cappuccino with a pack of sugar or two, both of our taste buds were shocked by the bitterness of the coffee. It was far from being an Italian coffee blend, the coffee taste was more American, if not South American. The pastry was descent, but there was no option of warming the pastry which was obviously made at another location. One of our children had an oat milk green matcha, which he said was good, and the other child had an ice mocha, which they found quite bitter and was unable to finish while being there. Though Aviano Café is nested in a nice location, it is far from resembling anything Italian. And though the intent may not to try to duplicate an Italian café, our taste buds revolted to the first sip of coffee. At best the experience is equal to chain coffee shops that can be found in any parts...
Read moreI left this place a review and somehow my review was deleted.
The last time I was here, I stood in line for a very long time with several other people while the staff ignored everyone. After several minutes of being ignored, I said screw this and left and more than half the people in line had the same sentiment and left with me. The staff didn't seem to care that we left as clearly they had better things to do than serve the customers. This happened all three times I came to this coffee shop, where the staff were arrogant and cared more about the regular customers and Friends sitting at the coffee bar than anybody who was standing in line.
The other complaint I have about this place is that it's overpriced and not very good for what they offer. If you're going to be in a premium location and have a premium price, you need to have at the very least a decent product and really top quality service. Offering neither demonstrates that clearly people have no concept of what is good coffee and they don't care if they get treated poorly or not in the...
Read moreHad to review to offset all these irrelevant low star reviews - the coffee is fantastic, the vibe of both locations fits the area, and feels a little CA meets Chicago with the open industrial look. This is the BEST coffee shop in the Cherry Creek area. Itâs Aviano or Starbucks, which seems crazy for this affluent neighborhood. Should there be other options for these folks who didnât like the tables/decor style or need a cozy couch? Yes! Is Denver generally lacking in their coffee scene? Yes! But poor reviews about the style, the baristas didnât smile at you, etc., has nothing to do with the quality of coffee. Aviano is one of the few shops in Denver that does a proper velvety foam and the seating is perfectly set up for working or a friend hang. Youâre in the mix but have your space - like chaotic privacy. You can people watch but no oneâs listening to your convo, you know? Music is energetic but not too loud. Lots of light from the windows. If that is not your vibe, thatâs ok - they donât need to change it for you...
