My partner and I went for dinner last night. Let me explain the 1-star rating. Our food was good. I had wings and she had the nachos. Drinks were good. No complaints there. Our service was great. She was very attentive and touched the table plenty during service. She made sure that we were all set. Here comes where things turn and the reason I will never set foot in this establishment again. While we were eating, we noticed a commotion that involved our waitress and a table of about 7 older men, one of which, we learned later, is part owner of the establishment. As we listened in, the man who is the part owner was loudly scolding the waitress for there being the wrong number of quesadillas on his plate. The man would not stop even after the waitress apologized and continued to shame and embarrass her in front of the entire dining room. The waitress walked away visibly shaken and tears in her eyes, but she kept waiting on her other tables, red-eyed and clearly upset and embarrassed. After a few minutes, the part owner got up from the table to speak with, what we assumed was the manager on that night, and continued to complain about the waitress whom he'd already broken. Luckily, the manager was attempting to stand up for her staff. NOBODY should be treated in this way anywhere, much less in a crowded dining room in front of a table of diners ESPECIALLY where there is a clear power dynamic. Shame on you for the way you treated your staff and I do hope that this review reaches your eyes. There was a better way to handle yourself here and with your many years of experience in the industry, I do hope that this was a one off, however and unfortunately this was a situation that my partner and I witnessed and we will never put another dime in your pocket. Do...
Read moreMy family and I planned a fun holiday weekend in Denver Colorado this past weekend. We had taken our sons to see the beautiful lights in Downtown Denver. As we were walking by Milwaukee Tavern we noticed they had 2 bowling Alley Lanes for kids. We were so excited and quickly made our way to the entrance. ( bowling is one of our sons favorite things to do. Our 3 year old is Austistic and he was so happy when he saw we were taking him to bowl.) We were having a great family time with our boys but the balls kept getting stuck amd it was taking forever for us to get any help resetting the game. So my husband decided to fix the the situation himself so our son could continue to have a good time. Thats when the manager screamed at my husband to get off the lanes. It was the rudest most embarrassing moment we have ever had happen to us. The whole restaurant stopped what they were doing and looked at us thanks to the rudest bar Manager Erica having no people skills whatsoever! I honestly dont understand how such a rude person could have the job position that she does. afterwards a couple other waitresses apologized for her behavior. BUt it didnt help the situation that we were in. We still had a messed up game of bowling that we waited over 15 minutes for someone to come help us when we finally decided to just leave. We werent going to waiste anymore of our time there. Obviously we werent worth helping. But we were worth the time it took for Erica to scream at us across the restaurant. We will never recommemd this place to any family who wants to have a good time and we will never step foot back in this horrible Milwaukee...
Read moreBeen meaning to leave a review of this true gem, my girlfriend and I are newer to Colorado and we both love this place. It’s a tavern so you would assume it’s mediocre bar food. False. Their food is amazing. We happened to stumble in on a Sunday, we had Chris as a server and honestly, one of the nicest, most welcoming and friendly guy we have had the pleasure to be waited on by. Went back the following Sunday and luckily Chris was there and somehow made it even better than the first time. It was slow upon arrival but after a couple hours of hanging out enjoying our Sunday, it definitely got busier, I think it was just him and a bartender cause guy was hustling and crushing it. Still checked in with us, still on top of it. We felt a little bad for him at first but he seemed to be in the zone taking tables all over the place including outside. Multiple tvs to watch all sports one would desire, great brunch on sundays, a true home good feeling. He even advised us of a rewards program they offer. He already knew we would not decline and had a little sheet to fill out with a card. Highly recommend this place, the staff, and overall vibe are the best we’ve experienced this far in beautiful Colorado. We found our new favorite place in Denver. Ask for Chris, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Chris and Milwaukee St Tavern for making us feel so welcomed and like family. Will be back over and over...
