Dollar Tree — Attraction in Des Moines

Gather round folks I shall share a story with you all. I have been going to this location since it opened and pretty much know anything there is to know about that place, including secrets. Let me state for the record to the people complaining about the shelves not being stocked or the lines being backed up to high hell, this is NOT the stores fault, it's the shallow corporate heads. They do not allot the hours needed to keep this place top notch, at ALL. I have had a couple friends work at this dollar tree and let me tell you, the only time dollar tree cares about totally meeting your concerns is when it's seasonal prime time (thanksgiving to just after new years) when they can milk the most money out of you, they don't care about you wanting the shelves completely stocked or getting you out fast or keeping the store tidy until they know you are willing to spend loads of cash. But The cashiers and the managers are not to blame, I have witnessed more then once cashiers begging to stay and help improve the place because there was only one cashier for an entire shift Versus the entire store and a manager,AKA a skeleton crew. The manager and her asst's have it real bad too. With one cashier and them as the backup, they have to try to clear a HUGE task list given to them all while keeping the lines clear, and with the high traffic this is just not possible without the asst's failing the task list. The cashiers are getting the shaft hard too, they all are paraded out to the front of the store after shift to have their bags and shopping checked, every single time. This is very demeaning to them and they do not deserve this, and verbal assaults against the cashiers is on the rise too because of said long lines. and now suddenly two of the most hardest workers I have seen at that place have gone missing and the cashiers wont say what happened, but they all look depressed so one can assume they got canned for some odd reason, and knowing the company it was for a bogus reason. Although theres a rumor that it was because they worked off the clock to try and improve the store because dollar tree would not allot the hours to improve the store. The company only cares about profit and the bottom line, not you.

Side note; This won't be up for long, dollar tree is well known for getting negative reviews of them removed ASAP. Spread the word, save the staff of this location, they are sweating nearly blood to keep the place top notch...

Hello, My name is Suzanna. I Just want to say this place is amazing and extremely friendly and while a tad messy due to parents not watching their kids, very well stocked. But thats why i am not posting. Below me is a guy named J Singh with 8 reviews. I was 2 people ahead of him yesterday when he decided to throw a tantrum because an employee had to switch registers as it was not working (the poor guy swiped an item like 10 times and still did not scan). Combo with the fact that not only did the poor guy have a sign up saying closed and his light off, the guy decided to throw out random claims of racism just because he had to wait and move, which only would have took 3 minutes. Then he starts going after the manager on site, a women named Vanessa saying she was racist and hired a racist clerk. Mr Singh then decided to swear and call both the clerk and the manager loud rude names, out loud, around kids. The clerks handled the situation quite well and kept cool under pressure. I urge everyone to look at J Singh's profile, he claims racism every time he does not get his way, the proofs right there in his reviews, he even attacks a 911...

I’ve been to this Dollar Tree many times, I usually go 2-4 times a month.

Today, was a beyond terrible experience. The cashier made me wait 5 minutes at the register before checking my items out. Then she asked if I wanted to pay for bags, I said no I brought mine and handed them to her.

She proceeds to scan all my items and place them right next to my bags. I didn’t say anything, thinking maybe she will bag them at the end. So I pay for my stuff, then as soon as I’m done paying she literally walks away without saying a word. Didn’t bag a single item, didn’t acknowledge it, or say anything whatsoever.

I have NEVER not had my items bagged at Dollar Tree. What kind of new laziness is this? Why even bother asking about my bag preference if you clearly weren’t going to bag my stuff?! I wouldn’t care if it was 4-5 items, but I literally...
