Wet-n-Wild Watersports — Attraction in Destin

Should have been a great experience. Should have been a fantastic memory to make with friends. Should have been something we talk about happily for years to come. That being said, it was not.

While on the water one of the jet-ski’s died, approximately 20 minutes into our time; And so two of our group went back to try and get “help” from the business. I stayed with my friend who was on the disabled watercraft. For safety, and to ensure that if needed (which it was needed) to help the business find the ONE dead Jetski (with my friend on it) in the water.

Eventually, one of the staff members came out and tied the jetski up and towed it back. They refunded my friends rental, but did ABSOLUTELY nothing for the remainder of the group. Who only got to enjoy a third of the time that was paid for….. when I asked the staff member if he felt that was appropriate, the response I got was, “well nobody else had to stay with them or do any of that. You all made that choice. So I can’t refund anyone else but the person on the dead watercraft.”

Got it. So. While they preach about safety and ensure that those born after take the SAFETY test. The businesses stance left us all feeling a nonchalance and disregard for our group exercising safety while one of their products was inoperable. Don’t get me wrong. They absolutely needed to refund the inoperable Jetski entirely, but no additional time was permitted. Not even a partial refund was offered to the rest of the group. Because in the staff members eyes, “you didn’t have to stop riding…. You all made that choice, so we can’t refund that.”

So while it should have been a great experience, and one filled with GREAT memories. We got a memory alright, and I would STRONGLY encourage anyone that is currently looking at using this business to create a memorable experience. To look elsewhere. Avoid this business. Because they DO NOT CARE about your experience, or making it “right” to the group. They would rather you leave your friend in the middle of the open water on an inoperable jet ski…. 0/10 would...

We went to Wet-n-Wild to hopefully have a jet ski experience with dolphins. Unfortunately, there were no dolphins but we understand how not seeing them is a possibility. Nevertheless, riding the jet ski was fun.

Upon arriving however, we were required to take the FL Boat Course test that was around $15 e/ person and yielded a mandatory pass. Taking the test and paying for it was fine. The area that Wet-n-Wild could have done better was providing that information to people who don’t know the test is a requirement, (if you’re born after 1988 & plan to drive the jet ski) which added to the overall costs for the rental. I looked back at my confirmation email and the only needed ‘requirements’ were the liability waivers, which we made sure to complete before arriving.

Additionally, since we weren’t told about the course till our arrival, we made sure to quickly complete it. We arrived on time at 8am as required by Wet-n-Wild. Upon finishing and passing the 25 question test at 8:30am, we let the girl at the front desk know and made our way to the dock. The young man there had said the instructor had already left without us. It was 8:33am, 3 minutes after the rsvp. Instead of a brief instructional overview of the jet ski experience, since neither of us had driven one, we were rushed to go and ‘catch up with him’. This was unprofessional and not expected for something that is supposed to be a group activity. We missed the first dolphin stop of the tour and were met by the group on the way to the second one. There was no communication between the tour guides or any of the people at the front desk of what was going on. We arrived with plenty of time to do anything additionally but it wasn’t enough. Like I said, it was fine experience, but Wet-n-Wild could have been more courteous and aware. Don’t expect much if you chose to go to Wet-n-Wild other than a jet ski experience from the...

My family and I rented 2 jet skis. There is onsite free parking which makes it really convenient. We signed our consents online prior to our arrival which made checkin very simple. I highly recommend you sign your consents before you get there! Also, there are age requirements. IF YOU WERE BORN 1988 OR LATER, YOU ARE REQUIRED BY FLORIDA STATE LAW TO TAKE A TEST!!! This is clearly stated on their website but some people were frustrated when they got there and learned this. This company must follow the law just like any other business so don’t get upset with the workers for doing what is required of them. There is a dry box on the front of the ski for personal items. BRING YOUR PHONE! My ski sucked some seaweed into the intake causing it to overheat. This is no fault or reflection of the company as anyone who has experience with jet skis knows…..they break down….a lot. I called the company and they quickly came and got me and offered to put me on another ski. There is also a clock at the front of each jet ski so you don’t have to worry about how you are going to keep track of the time.

We went back two days later for parasailing. Captain Christian and Brandon took us out. They were both amazing and made us feel very comfortable as soon as we got onboard. Each rider got about 10 minutes of flying time. You choose if you want to get wet or not (they let you down so your feet and lower body touch the water at the end of the flight). If you opt out, you stay dry the entire trip.
