I purchased tickets on April 28th, 2019, for myself and 5 other friends over the phone with Michael (owner of Crab Island Water Taxi). During our initial call, he stated that tickets had to be purchased in advance, which turned out to be false, as my son and I witnessed tickets being sold for same day with cash. Unfortunately, the day we arrived from Atlanta it stormed and due to the roughness of the seas they cancelled our trip. I spoke to Michael on the phone and he advised that we could get a refund or use tickets for a future trip. We decided to get a refund. He told us to call the office on Monday and we could get the refund processed. Since June 12th, I have called 17 times, sent 6 texts, and 5 emails. My son, who is an 12 year veteran stationed at Eglin AFB, has gone to them personally 4 times, and today I have flew back to attempt an in person refund. I had never received a call back or response to my numerous emails. I did receive 1 text asking if I had Venmo. The other owner, Cheryl Lopez, said "a refund for credit could only be done though credit," or words to that effect, but Michael offered, via text, to refund through venmo. Cheryl told my son that everything had been processed. However, after showing up in person, I requested copies/proof of the refund. She quickly flashed the screen to her laptop saying everything had been processed. I asked her again for copies of the email. At this point her line was getting extremely long, which forced her to send the email. The email, which was a screenshot of the refund, turned out to be more proof that no action had been taken at all; the screenshot shows that a refund was prepared, but never applied as credit to be reimbursed. She says it takes 2 to 3 billings cycles to receive the refund. However, my credit card company said 5 to 7 business days. I am getting a major run around with this company. Very poor customer service. I would strongly recommend considering another taxi service, especially if you live out of town. Still waiting on a 3pm call back at 5:25 pm Very...
Read moreWhen I researched ways to get to Crab Island months ago, I didn't know this taxi service existed because it is fairly new. My BFF and I rented a kayak (June 2018) to get over to Crab Island because it was the cheapest of all the options to get over. Let me tell you, that current is really rough. It pulls you out towards gulf very easily and it's is nerve racking and scary. We had to really muscle it to keep from getting off track to make it back to the harbor. Once we got to crab island we saw the water taxi. It peaked our interest (because we wanted to come back to Crab Island and NOT kayak) so we approached the employees. They were very nice and welcomed our questions. Mike (the employee) gave us all the info we needed. It was the same cost as kayaking so we quickly knew we would opt out of kayaking the next time and use the water taxi. We called about an hour before we got down there to let them know we were coming. We arrived 1.5 hrs later (traffic) and waited about 15 mins for them to take a load out to the island and they came back to grab us (it took us longer to sign up for a kayak). They are all professional and very friendly. I felt like they knew what they were doing and experienced. I can say we didn't have the best customer service from the tourist industry while we were there so this was a welcomed change. I can't complain (TBH) about this company or the process. It was crazy easy and not that expensive! I don't know what all the 1 star reviews are about. Possibly fake reviews from other companies because people are opting to take the taxi instead of renting their outrageously priced rentals instead. I will be recommending this taxi to anyone who is interested in going to crab island. I think the customer service of this business will speak for itself in time. Mike (owner) and his employees do...
Read moreCPT Mike and his staff is absolutely amazing and made the trip so much fun. We definitely love them and will come back. Hopefully they remember us the old man with the hot wife and we love to dance lol. So we talked about either renting a boat or taking this boat ride and I'm glad we did this boat tour. They know their way around and have so many amenities. We got the VIP package it was worth every penny of it. Unlimited water, soda and snacks and it differently was a variety. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring all the alcohol you can carry. They have all the water toys and snorkel gear you need plus they have a bathroom because crab island is one big body of water that is about three feet deep. Your out there for fours hours so like I said so worth it. The staff isn't kidding about being full service. They help with everything and give you a smile and interacts with everyone they are so sweet and adorable. Book online and ensure you do the waiver on line because they will ask to see it. When you get to the area you can unload but you will have to park across the street not bad at all. Show the staff the paperwork from your phone and wait to board. Once on they will explain the rules and away you go. The music was load and so much fun I was dancing and singing even the staff danced it was awesome. The are is one big party area with small boats coming around selling ice cream, pizza and alcohol. It is clear water and amazing atmosphere. Their hard work was so appreciated. Can't wait till...
