Gateway Shopping Center in Fort Lauderdale has a really unique vibe. It mixes a retro style with a modern touch, making it a fun spot for a weekend outing. I really like the restaurants here — places like Il Mulino and Rock Sushi are definitely worth trying. The cinema is also a highlight: it has super comfortable lounge-style seats and a cozy vintage feel. I also love that they show LGBTQ+ festival films, which adds a nice cultural touch to the place.
That being said, it’s not perfect. Some areas could be a little cleaner, especially the restrooms, and parking can be a bit tight at times. I’ve also noticed a few homeless people around the theater, which can affect the atmosphere depending on the day.
