For Christmas, our company gifted our employees with gift cards from Macondo Coffee Roasters, spending a few hundred dollars on these cards. To our embarrassment, when one of our employees went to go pick up food using several of the cards we had gifted (just a small portion of the money spent), these did not work. She had to pay full price (management did not even try to fix this on the spot) and we were told the gift card company systems were down. We had another employee attempt to use his gift card several weeks later and found out this card also did not work. When I called to speak to the manager I was given the run around for about a week before finally speaking to her. She said she would issue gift certificates to our manager to distribute once again to the employees. This never happened. When we tried to reach out again, we were told that the manager could not respond to us for another 2 weeks. RIDICULOUS. I told them we would file a chargeback and all of a sudden the employee seemed worried. She said she'd have the manager call us back, which of course never happened. When we called again today to tell them we were going ahead with the chargeback, this same employee unprofessionally and RUDELY hung up. I am amazed at how incredibly underdeveloped their customer service is. Mind you we have been nothing but kind and patient with them up until this point. If you are thinking of doing something for your company, DO NOT go to Macondo. They will STEAL your money. We have gone ahead and filed the chargeback. Read moreI’m not the one to hate on a business right away. I gave Macondo a few chances to redeem themselves but each time I went, I regretted going .
I got a matcha in the first time I went, and it was disgusting. It was 90% milk and 10% matcha which is horrible. Then I asked them to remake it because I paid $6 for it so they did but it was horrible once again. They first did not add the vanilla I asked for and second it was milky again plus I could taste the clumps of matcha in my drink which shows they did not mix it well. It was undrinkable.
The second time I went I ordered a vanilla latte and once again it was disgusting. Thankfully it wasn’t like drinking a gallon of milk like the matcha but it was worst, it tasted as if they let the shot or coffee beans burnt. It left a horrible after taste in my mouth and once gain undrinkable. In this economy, I should not be throwing away drinks.
Lastly, the service, horrible. Somehow the women in that business do know how to give attitude. On the second time there, I walked in and the workers were all talking, for two minutes straight no one attended me. When they did notice my presence there, the women gave me attitude.

Read moreThis place has a great vibe, not to mention the food, coffee, and service were awesome. I headed over for a late lunch and, having been on a Night Shift, breakfast for me. The ambiance is relaxing and comfortable. Raymond took my order and had a super-positive and joyful attitude. I had the Gabo’s wrap, which was delicious (would definitely recommend) and a large latte which was awesome. Two of the men involved in the business (not sure if they were owners?) there offered for me to try the Chemex medium roast coffee, which was a new experience for me, but it was very good. Now, what really was great was that my order did not print out in the back so after a while, Raymond came from behind the counter to check on me and figured out the problem. To me, it wasn’t a big deal, but I was not in a hurry. Everyone was so apologetic and “made it right” offering me another coffee while I waited (yes, I’ll be up for days after all that coffee) and continued to check on me the rest of my time there. To me, that’s great business - problems happen, so just make it right and all is well. If you want amazing coffee, delicious food, a comfortable atmosphere, and great customer service, stop in.
