I never saw Leonardo paint. I never saw Michelangelo sculpt. I never saw Giotto bring architecture to life. But I have seen Neil Balani design gentlemens apparel, so I haven't missed much.

Neil and his people at HKT are artists. I first visited HKT in 2016 to get a simple suit. Neil patiently went through his fabric suggestions with me. Then styles. Then measurements. Then shirts.

When the orders came in I looked like Prince Charles. The transformation was amazing.

Since that time I have ordered dozens of sport coats, waistcoats, slacks, sweaters, and turtlenecks from Neil. How does he do? I INVARIABLY get compliments when I wear Neil's designs.

HKT's selection of fabrics is amazing. If you go into a high-end store to buy a suit or a sport coat, you may have your choice of 25 or 35 fabrics. Some of them will be good, some will be fair, all will be overpriced. In contrast, at HKT, you have hundreds, if not thousands, of fabric swatches to pore over. HKT's prices are competitive with ready-to-wear items.

If you have an issue, Neil stands behind his work. There had been a miscommunication with an order of mine (the miscommunication may have been mine, not his: I wanted functional buttonholes on the sleeves of a sport coat, but I'm not entirely sure I told him). Neil's response? "We will take care of that immediately."

There are two premiere tailors well known around Atlanta and HKT is where I will be conducting all my custom clothing business. Local, easy to access and family owned, I had a great interaction with Neal and his staff over my previous one with the aforementioned "downtown" tailors.

I had a sudden and pressing need for an upcoming meeting and Neal and staff provided exceptional service and assisted me greatly on my time crunch to have a fantastic garment for my meeting. While I cannot attest he can work similar miracles in the time frame provided for every customer, I am appreciative he was able to do so for my situation.

HKT possesses a wide variety of materials and was much appreciated to have a modern eye to trends and fashion while offering an honest lens for what looks best on me. I settled on a beautiful deep blue with subtle sheen, a supplementary patterned liner, and a classic shirt to complete my MTM suit order.

I have always wanted to get a custom made suit and when I got engaged my wedding was a great reason to go ahead and do it. So I went to HKT and began the process. Neil and team spent several hours with me on my first visit understanding what I was looking for on both style and price point. I left very satisfied that I got the best material and best design for the suit I wanted.

I also purchases a white custom shirt to go with my suit and decided to get several more during my visit and they have become my go to shirts. I have gone back many times over the last several months and purchased more. I now have 20 custom shirts from them.

I liked them so much that I decided to make custom shirts from HKT my groomsman gift. And when all my groomsman went in to get fitted some fell in love with it and got their own custom suits for the wedding.

My only caution is that the process especially at the start takes some time (2-4 hours) so I would make sure that you allocate a good amount of time to spend with them.
