I took my necklace to have the lobster clasp replaced on my necklace. When I went to pick it up I was extremely disappointed that the JEWELERS could not tell the difference between yellow gold and rose gold. My beautiful rose gold necklace now had an obvious new flaw in the replacement claw. Perhaps I’m wrong, I know I’m not, but the jeweler who replaced the clasp would have had to wear some type of spectacles to do the job and you mean to tell me you didn’t know you were working with ROSE GOLD?!?!? The sales associate acted as though she could not tell the difference and had to take it to the back to confirm, after she looked at it from different angles and under a light near the register.
I feel like this place took advantage of the fact that I knew what I had but thought perhaps I wasn’t smart enough to be able to tell the difference. Or perhaps MY type of business isn’t valued and they can just put whatever they want as replacement (“she won’t know the difference”). I also needed my piece for an event and didn’t have time to come back another day. Associate offered to perhaps drop of at my job (which I told her was in Lithia Springs), she rescinded her offer before she checked to see if anyone would be able to do it (12 mins away). I guess I would have had to work on the same block for her to follow through with her offer.
The same day, a gentleman brought a small bag of jewelry to be appraised. He clearly said he needed an appraisal. Why did the sales associate assume something negative and told him that they don’t pawn jewelry?!?!? He calmly and clearly restated that he need an appraisal of his wife’s jewelry for insurance purposes. Was it the way he was dressed, was it the color of his skin, was it something else. Strangely I looked at the “other” customers who came to the store with their business: none seeming to have any issues. Some even leaving with nice bags and/boxes.
Personally I will not be returning to this business for anything else. I purchased my daughters class ring there and also have brought in some pieces for repair. But the minute I felt sized up to be taken advantage of by someone who should have just done the job correctly the first time, clearly you don’t need MY money or MY business. Also, the sales associate brought my piece out in a clear ziplock baggie that she removed it from as that’s what they put it in to be repaired with the work order. Why did she hand my piece back to me plainly and perhaps the look on my face prompted her to ask me if I needed a jewelry bag to put it in?!?!?! 😳 I’m sure the “other” customers pieces are automatically placed in a jewelry bag after inspection by the customer.
Very disappointed and would not recommend MY community to take their business to this establishment…not to get an appraisal, not to have jewelry cleaned, not to have a repair, not to have a battery changed, not to even ask for a jewelry cleaning cloth! I might have don’t better to take it to the mall and take my repair to one of the small business kiosks in the middle of the mall!

Read moreMy experience with these folks was great! A business survives and flourishes on reputation, and reputation is built by customer service. I dropped off a watch for engraving and was helped by Matthew Saffo. He was not just helpful, he helped me to make a better decision for the watch that I was having engraved, and it came out better for his suggestions. The watch was ready long before I expected it, and I received a prompt phone call notifying mr that it was ready for pickup. When I went in to get the watch Abigail Tidwell helped me. As I had taken the band and packaging with me, she made sure that it was reassembled and packaged properly. She then offered to gift wrap my watch (purchased elsewhere) for free. She did an incredible job and saved me a lot of time and worry. Atlanta West Jewelry will now be my first stop for any jewelry related purchases. Dealing with either of these sales associates would have impressed me. Dealing with both overwhelmed me in a very positive way. This was the day after Christmas and these were two holiday...
Read moreWhat would you think and feel if you came into a store to get watch batteries and told they would call you later in the afternoon by a clerk.. While another person comes behind you at the same time, and another clerk tells that person their watch batteries will be ready in a 10 minutes??? I then asked the clerk does that means mine will be ready as well in 20 minutes and her flip "nice nasty" reply was we'll call you later when they are . I dropped two watches just to see what customer service would be... 12:26 PM and received a call approximately 3:00 PM.
Needless to say I asked for the blond young lady, but was told she was in back doing inventory . I spoke to the lady who did assist and told her my experience and you never know who your customers are, but ALL should be treated with dignity and respect... She apologized on behalf of that person. I've taken different watches here that were so-called luxury and inexpensive, but never experienced this type of customer experience......
