Covered Bridge Sports — Attraction in Dover

Placed purchase on Sunday, April 23rd 2017. The inventory was displayed as two items in stock. The price was displayed as $249.99. The price at most other retailers averaged around $349.99. This was a great price and probably too good to be true. I placed my order online and the transaction went through...or so I thought. I received an email the next day that they sold the final two units on that Friday. Then I spoke with the manager on the phone and he said that they sold the final unit prior to my transaction. Their website had inventory integration and when I made my purchase the inventory went from 2 to 1. The reality is they likely priced this incorrectly and didn't want to complete the transaction at the below market price. You can't hide behind technology as your excuse. Your website has inventory integration, you're not running an unsophisticated business if you have website integration with inventory databases. If you're going to operate in the online marketplace you need to be able to honor the pricing that you publish. This type of behavior wouldn't happen with Amazon and that is why Amazon will negatively impact the long-term success of companies such as Covered Bridge Sports at...

I lived in North Dover for a long time ago (moved away 4 years ago) and decided to stop in at Covered Bridge to find a new snowboard for my daughter whom has already outgrown her last snow board (ugh),, and I found the same friendly people there that were there years ago. These folks know what they sell. And they've always given me a good price when buying New or Used! And we talked flexibility and board manufacturer and trade-in,, etc. And it was a great purchase. Additionally I bought her first boots and board there (3 boards back now) and they took her gear 2 years later and sold the used gear for us!...

I hadn't purchased a pair of skis in a long time. Parenthood will do that to you. Being an avid skier for years then taking a break it was a nice experience going back into a ski shop. Things changed. Covered Bridge Sports was a great place to start again....
