I wasn’t going to leave a review, but after reading how others have had the same experience that I did, it’s worth mentioning. I have shopped and Sunglass Hut before, back home in Virginia, no issues. However, when visiting my 2nd residence in Florida, I went to this location and the experience was very unsettling. From the moment I walked in I was being watched. I was asked on 4 different occasions if I needed help, by 4 different associates. All of whom, I know heard me the first time I said that I did not. I am the type of person that will ask for help when o need it, as I do not like salespeople hovering over me while I shop. I generally know what I’m looking for. I also know from previous experience in retail that you are to ask customers if they need help to deter theft if you suspect it. I find one pair of glasses that I think about purchasing, and continue browsing. I find a 2nd pair and begin looking for a 3rd. At this point, a 5th person approaches me and offers me a tray so that I can hold the glasses in. I place the glasses in the tray and grab it, then she snatches it and says that she will hold it. Umm okay. So if you are holding glasses for me so that I can compare them, then my thought is that you will stay with me so that I can actually make the comparison. Nope she goes on to help someone else. This makes no sense. It was clear that they were profiling me. Seeing as this has been reported before, it only makes sense that this is what happened. I am never one to flex, but to all of the associates at that location, here’s the deal… I don’t have to steal. I am a college educated, multi-business owner, multi-property owner, with a clean criminal record. Not all millionaires wear designer clothing, many of us dress in everyday wear. Stop making assumptions about people. I know you are probably paid to “watch” certain people, but I could have paid you to leave me alone. I’m an expert in human behavior and criminology and I can tell you with all certainty, that the majority of the time the people that you suspect are stealing are generally grabbing all your attention, while the real thieves are stealing behind your back. I did end up buying 2 pair of glasses, but not because I was impressed with the customer service,...
Read moreFollowed around as if I was doing something wrong. Had 4 people come ask me if I was ok and wouldn’t leave me alone. I could see them talking to one another about me and was over me like a hawk the whole time. Even when I told the male worker “Francisco “ I was just browsing and I’ll let him know if I need help he asked for my name and then stepped away. Two minutes later asking if I have a picture of who I am getting them for. I’m not confusing this with good customer service at all, I was being follwed around and made to feel as if I was a mischievous adolescent. I don’t know what incidents this store may have had with other people but to have felt this watched over and being talked about and followed every movement was dreadful. I have bought glasses from here before and I might have actually bought a decent pair of sunglasses today if I was not to have made felt this uncomfortable. This is unacceptable and I refuse to go back and made to feel like this when I’m spending my hard earned money. Go to any other store people but...
Read moreHorrible cashier, amazing salesperson. When I walked in, Was greeted by Edward who helped me pick out 2 pairs of glasses. He was very kind and extremely persuasive. If I could I would give him 10 stars. After Edward helped me pick out the glasses, he transferred me to Hooriya, the cashier. She didn't say a single word and kept giving me these looks. Her attitude was horrible and when I was supposed to swipe my card, she looked at me and said "pay." I told her that the screen was black and she huffed and rolled her eyes. She went to the other register and didn't even say "come here with me, or I can help you over here." I didn't like her attitude so I told her that I didn't want the glasses anymore and then she started to talk. I repeated that I didn't want them and walked out. I was not going to give my money to somebody who was being rude. I went to the Sunglasses Hut on the other side of the mall, where I was given 0 attitude. Never going back to that Sunglasses...
