UPDATE: It's too bad, unnecessary bullying and harassment happens at this library both inside the building and outside in the parking lot, for absolutely no reason. It's 2025 for goodness sake, and it's sad that there are still older Americans (not sure of their exact culture, can only go by what it seen), who act like they're in charge of another person's life, lifestyle or temperament on any given day. They don't use their words, they're cowardly, but they use what they can and it's an act of bullying and low quality harassment.
It really is sad that someone can't just go to a library, any library to get whatever it is done, done, without being harassed or ostracized. The quality of this library has gone downhill, the atmosphere and environment of feeling like getting work or anything else done, has significantly dropped. There are even some pre-teens who act out and think they're in charge and allowed to harass others when they're merely minding their own business focused on their own self and work.
And not even the librarians can or will do anything about it, as I have had the sad experience of interacting with them and being falsely accused because, of what I wear, or how I speak or because maybe the bully has more of a position in the area, or are friends with the librarians. Either way, I know what my experience is at this particular library and it's sad that I feel anxious about entering it, to do even 30 minutes of work because of what someone might say or do.
Sure, I could rat out the person who did the evil to me, but I know they'll just lie to the librarian and then it becomes a he said / she said, and in my experience in the bay area, I end up losing. It's sad that treating people with respect is just not a common practice anymore, especially in the public library, at least not at this one. If No stars were an option, then I would have to change my rating from two stars to no stars. And it's a library. That's discouraging.
For the most part, it's a decent size library. Some of its study areas are still blocked off, but there is still plenty of areas to sit, read, study, etc. Although their chairs aren't that comfortable, pretty hard, so a puffy jacket or pillow to sit on is nice to bring, if you're planning to hang out, for awhile.
There's not supposed to be any eating & masks are still required, but one time I saw a guy in plain open view with a whole pizza box on the table, it was funny & puzzling at the same time.
With any public area, having to put up with or ignore disruptive patrons who are inconsiderate, selfish or just plain rude is a given. Loud radios, loud voices, slamming books, slamming doors, alarms going off for more than a few seconds, cracking their knuckles (one of the most disgusting habits & harmful things to do to someones body & bones).
The quiet study area in the library is NOT very quiet whatsoever. It's better to sit away from the noisemakers and sit in the open area, with everyone else. Just remember that if you're eating any food or have any beverages, that librarians will see.
Parking is a breeze, never is it too packed, staff is pretty friendly & helpful, there's covered parking so that definitely helps on extremely hot days.
I don't get to this library location much anymore, but don't mind coming...

In the Library next entrance, Friends of the Dublin Library has an area to browse and pay with either cash or check into a metal donation box throughout the year during Library hours. I scored on very good condition children's books at...
Read moreCan't tell this is a new library. Especially, book ranges for childeren ( preschooler to school students) are not various and there's no such device like ipad or touch screen for educational games or learning purpose apps installed. Computers only. Books are old and out of update. Limited audio books displayed. Kids zone is not quite encouraging for kids to stay(interior design& kids furniture are far behind compared to current new other libraries) it is more likely a quite zone for self study. Book Drop off location is inconvenient and it is not a automatic machine to record the date of yr books returned with receipt. I see lots of programs for Adults but elementary kids programs are very limited in this...
