United Skates of America — Attraction in East Providence

Extremely racist so much so that when I asked a question they reply with canceling my party. It was so bad that my husband is Caucasian American asked a question and the staff answered pleasantly but then when I asked the very same question they threatened to have me thrown out. It’s just another case of an African-American person doing seemingly ordinary things and It being blown way out of proportion all I did was ask the girls a few questions and when they couldn’t answer them they got so flustered trying to call the police cancel my party but all I want to know was why does my party start at 12:30 but here it is 1 o’clock and nothing is happening yet do you trying to find excuses for the airport business practices for example if a party starts at 12:30 it starts at 12:30 you can’t charge me $300 for a party that starts at 12:30 but then you decide to maybe just maybe start the party at 1:15 that means that I’m missing out in 45 minutes of my party time and when you question them they get aggresive, cry, threaten, They do everything but start your party on time. I would never recommend this place for a party at all it’s very disorganized, Then I was told that if I wasnt nice and if didnt listen to them when they were speaking to me they would cancel her party. My family was Tara rise because we were expected to sit around USA skates for an hour waiting for them to get my party together so my party was in our elite so instead of starting at 12:30 it started at 1:30 when the staff decided to stop gossiping in the corner and being disorganized and chatting on their phones see this is another way for them to not take accountability for their actions. All I wanted was for my daughter’s party to get that what I paid for and the staff has been unbelievably rude and I’m not getting my moneys worth at all. When I ask questions regarding the poor business practices is when the hostess decided she wanted to call the police and have my daughter’s party canceled and have me thrown out all I wanted to do was know why they don’t give what they say and now they took it to a different level but then they still charge me for a birthday party package. I would advise against having any of your children’s parties at this dump it’s dirty the pizza is disgusting and you’ll never get your moneys worth them their business revolves around taking advantage of children and families. Now mind you this is all because I had questions regarding the laser tag and rock climbing, pizza and I wanted to know what the schedule was for the day but I guess that is to much so that they ruined my daughter’s birthday party. When you have a lot of questions for them and they can’t answer them they get annoyed, And threaten to cancel. Of course a thief is going to get offended when you ask them why they’re stealing from you so of course a thief meaning USA skates would get upset when you ask them why your 1230 party starts at 1:15 or 130 just as they get upset when you ask too many questions and they can’t answer them the reason why they can’t answer those questions is because for decades of their business Revolves around taking advantage of children and families during parties. By the time I’m done with USA skates there will be no more parties there it’s a dump sky zone is right around the corner I’d prefer...

Good afternoon,

Reaching out to inform you of the disrespect from one of your employees Ryan, located at the 75 New Road Rumford, RI 02916 location. Staff Ryan etiquette was beyond unbelievably disgusting. While being help by Luna a different employee for an error on United skates behalf; charging me for a food item I did not receive. Ryan chose to rudely interfere in baseline conversation being had with Luna. I was position with my back towards Ryan before he intervened. Ryan stood there and said "you need to move, move now". I replied "excuse me?". Ryan then stated excuse to a different bystander politely. A bystander stated you do not need to be rude little boy. I stated to Ryan " who do you think your talking to? I do not have to do anything". Ryan's response is "you did, and I’m talking to you". I told Ryan "you picked the wrong one on my right day". I then educated Ryan on etiquette, public speaking, respect, social economics and I personally not tolerating his behavior. Luna redirected the conversation back to herself to deescalate the situation and she continued to help me. Megan did arrive after monitoring the incident that occurred previously and intervened. Megan and Luna walked me over to the register. A detailed description of the incident was given to Megan by myself. I informed Megan I offered Luna to receive my refund over the phone so I could leave and they could continue to assess the situation they were in at the time. From the hour before of asking to receive a refund from the concession stand. To the hour before that waiting for my food. Megan assured me the refund was announced to her but a delay was communicated then lost and not received to me. Megan did process my refund transaction and gave me the corporate information and told to speak with Sue. A night of fun, sing along, turned into a night of being disrespected, time not valued and questioning on the type of staff is overseeing kids. It makes me wonder how Ryan interacts with kids that attend this skating facility. If Ryan is so easily rude and combative towards an adult; as a parent my assumption is Ryan would be easily triggered towards a rambunctious child. It makes me wonder if I should file with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the Rhode Island Attorney General office to further investigate the safe and wellness of the consumers that attend events here. I personally have been attending events at this location for over 30 years and I have never had one complaint till last night. I would like to acknowledge Luna for her professionalism during the whole ordeal and assessing the situation and reassurance that my issue was important. Also, Megan for overseeing that her staff was fully supported and customer concerns heard and attended to. Hoping United skates of America will enforce ethics, respect, community building and equality for consumers and staff. Absolutely horrible. It was suppose to be “Christian Skate Night” just my husband and I went,Just myself decided to skate since I use to go skating alot as a teenager. I had to hold on to the wall alot,because for some reason the floor seemed way to slippery,it felt very over waxed or whatever they maybe put on it. It was so bad that it felt more like I was on an ice rink instead!! Even the rollerskates felt way to slippery as well and I don’t know if the workers put anything on the wheels to keep them maybe from rusting or whatever but I mind as well wore ice skates!! It was over packed with people! there were older kids there that were going way to fast!! And had no consideration for the beginner skaters,especially the real little kids trying to learn . I noticed they kept falling because of the other people zooming past them,including myself,which shortly after I ended up falling back on my head and back because too many kids were hanging out on the walls when they were told not to. So I ended up just laying there until finally 5 minutes later one of the workers came to help me. Was supposed to to be free pizza,I seen none what so ever, and there was suppose to be “Christian Music” playing,it sounded like rock music that was so loud you couldn’t even hear the words to the songs at all. The price is reasonable,but I had such a horrible visit there including lockers that are so confusing to use it took me forever to lock and unlock until finally I had to ask for help. I ended up leaving with my husband very early and in pain from falling on that floor that was to over waxed or whatever they use if anything at all. Was also mentioned it would also be like a fall festival where there would be games to play and prizes,I seen nothing there that was mentioned on their facebook page. Only like arcade games. I would of thought it would of been a more calming atmosphere and maybe adults only tonight it should of been. I was very disappointed to say the least, will not be coming back there again. Also if your a intermediate to advanced skater that would be great to go if you are. But definitely not for beginners because there’s top many people doing like 100 mph zooming by you! It’s best to go if there are beginner classes or a beginner skate night. And definitely skate at your own risk because that floor you skate on and wheels on those skates they offer are very dangerous!! I had the worst night ever there! Left early...
