Purchasing tickets for the event and parking was very easy through StubHub. The parking ticket (about $30) was available immedaitely after purchasing, but the tickets to the actual game arrived digitally only two days before gameday...which, from my understanding, isn't uncommon.
We arrived at the stadium exit at about 5:40 pm, about an hour and twenty minutes before 7 pm kick-off. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the parking area. You follow a stream of slow-moving cars through the parking ticket booths where they validate your tickets. We printed ours...as it was recommended in the email. You then can park where directed...a short walk to the stadium entrance. Be mindful that there are a lot of people tailgating, taking up multiple spaces, grilling and tossing the ball (or cornhole sack) around. We opted to park a little further out to give those people more space and avoind any risk of balls hitting the car.
Going through the gate was fairly easy...EXCEPT when I tried to get my Digital SLR (Canon R5) through. The website clearly states that still-photography camera with lenses 6" or less are permitted...though when I got to the gate I was told by a few people that no camera with detachable lenses are attached...after pleading a bit, they allowed me to enter. My lens was about 5" long for reference (a wide angle zoom lens) I did notice others with detachable lens camera throughout the stadium...so, as with many venues...I think this "rule" is essentially left up to the descretion of the gate attendant...which can be misleading and confusing for those reading from the stadium's official website.
The stadium is massive...lots of food options but pre prepared to spend about $13 beers and $12-18 sandwiches and meals. Pretty standard for venues in the NYC area. Massive gift shop with lots of the home team's gear. Also some activities like running the 40 or punting through some goal posts were available in the front of the stadium shortly after clearing security.
The game was great...good idea to go during the off-season...as I was able to get prime lower level seats on the 50 yeard line for about $100 each...during the regular season, these seats are about $300-350. The environment was great...everything you would expect in a regular game. The NY crowd was very into the Jets-Giants battle...lots of energy in the arena.
Lines for food and bathrooms can get long at the end of each quarter and at halftime as expected. Bathroom lines are also long after the game. We actually stayed after the game for about 20 minutes...I snapped some photos as people emptied out...to allow the majority of the crowd to leave the lot. This seemed efective...as it wasn't difficult at all to leave....within 10 minutes from entering our car, we were back in the NJ Turnpike (1-95).
All staff, including the ushers to check tickets and direct you to your seats were helpful...
